Lawn Fawn Blog Hop and Giveaway – Day 1

Greetings and welcome to Day 1 of the Lawn Fawn Blog Hop and Giveaway with our wonderful friends at Lawn Fawn! We’re ready to share inspiration and tips from both design teams this week. Enjoy and don’t forget to enter to win, we have prizes! Read until the end of the post. Let’s start!

Christine Meyer’s Mum Flower Card

What flower do you think of first when you think of fall? For me, it’s mums! Christine joining you today to share this Mum Flower Card. I love mums and decided I would use the Outside In Stitched Scallop Circle Stackable Die from Lawn Fawn to create a dimensional and pretty centerpiece, the mum.

Lawn Fawn Blog Hop and Giveaway - Day 1 Mum Flower Card by Christine Meyer

First, I die-cut out each size of the circles in a colorful cardstock and with my scissors, cut in between each scallop. Make sure not to cut very far down the center – we want to keep those petals! With a combination of 3D Foam Squares White Regular Size and 3D Foam Squares White Small Size, I layered in between each blossom to create additional dimension. Lastly, the flower’s center was embellished by pouring glitter on top of an Adhesive Dots Large and tap off excess well.

If you want to check out more details and a full video tutorial on how to make this flower, head on over to my blog post.

Margie Higuchi’s Joy to the Woods Shaker Card

When I saw Joy to the Woods set from Lawn Fawn, a shaker card came to mind so I brought out the 3D Foam Creative Sheets and Crafty Foam Tape White and went to work!

The Joy to the Woods Lawn Cuts tree shapes were die-cut with 3D Foam Creative Sheets, sprinkled the front with white glitter (don’t forget to remove the top liner) and then stamped with the matching stamp. Isn’t it beautiful?! Don’t need glitter paper! LOL! Stamp the cardinal with white cardstock and die-cut. Next, colored it with watercolor pencil.

For the shaker: on the inside top right corner, a 3D Foam Snowflake was sprinkled with blue glitter. In addition, a couple of the sequins were secured with Adhesive Dots Micro so that not all will fall down to the bottom. I assembled my shaker with Crafty Foam Tape White. Then layer in front, the glittered tree die cuts. Sentiment stamped on a strip of vellum that was hand cut and secured with E-Z Runner® Permanent Fine (perfect for vellum!).

Snowmen Cards with Easy Adhesive Techniques!

Good morning! Michele here with a couple of winter inspired cards! (As I am sweltering in this 90+ heat in Chicago!) I didn’t officially participate in the Stampendous blog hop a few days ago, but that doesn’t mean I can’t still love on their cute stamps called Snowmen Trio!
Snowmen cards by Michele Kovack

How to make the Snowmen Cards

I did a no-line coloring technique for both cards.  They were stamped in a very pale blue, colored, and cut out with the coordinating dies.  The background of this card was done using water colors and white paint splatters.  I hand cut the hill, covered it with glue using the Dual Tip Glue Pen and then sprinkled it with glitter. Next, I adhered the hill and snowman with Crafty Foam Tape. For a final touch, I attached pearls and rhinestones with Dodz Adhesive Dots Mini.

I did a similar effect for this card, just changed the colors up a bit for a more frosty, cool look! Instead of a hill for this snowy guy to glide on, I chose a snowball. I used some of the glitter and embossing powders from Stampendous! called Frantage Encrusted Jewels! So much fun to just sprinkle and heat ’em up!  I used more Crafty Foam Tape to pop up the snowmen and my snowball.

Each layer was given additional dimension with Crafty Foam Tape.  The clear droplets were adhered with the Dual Tip Glue pen.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Supplies: Dual Tip Pen, Crafty Foam Tape, Dodz Adhesive Dots Mini, watercolors, Copic markers, Dew Drops, pearls, Glitter and stamp: Stampendous!

Turn Recycled Packaging into Art

Creating art using recycled packaging is simpler than you think. It brings interest and dimension to your projects. Let me show how I created my recycled panel for my card today.

Turn recycled packaging into Art, Joy Card by Lea Biccelli for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Create the recycled package background

Paint the chipboard package base with white chalk. Once dry, use a stencil with white crackle paste and let dry. Then color with watercolors. Next, stamp randomly with black archival ink and accent with some liquid gesso splashes.

Using Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/8″, attach lace that was colored with acrylic paint.

Then attach small gray sequins and gold stars with Adhesive Dots Micro.

To embellish the top of my panel, add painted chipboards in the following ways:

3D Foam Frame trimmed to fit the small but wide frame.

Add 3D Foam Squares cut to fit the large but thin rectangular frame.

Now for the details!

First, remove the liners from the 3D Foam Squares and adhere the larger frame on top of the panel. Remove liners from the smaller frame and wrap the thread around it.

Using the fine tip of the Dual Tip Glue Pen, apply the glue in back of the painted chipboard title and carefully place into the wrapped threads. While the title is drying, I used the Dual Tip Glue Pen to randomly attach the microbeads. The Glue Pen’s fine tip allowed me to be more precise with the placement. Lastly, adhere the small frame on top of the large frame. It’s done!

I hope you liked my recycled panel. This technique can be used not only on cards but on most any project that needs a little bit of interest. My suggestion is to…create,  create, create!

Stampendous Blog Hop and Giveaway – Day 5

Our Day 5 and last day of Stampendous Blog Hop and Giveaway! We hope you enjoyed the excitement as much as we loved to share our inspiration and ideas from both companies. Read through the end of this post for an opportunity to win giveaways.

Stephanie Schütze’s Playful Snowman Cards

I can’t wait for the holiday season to come so that I can use these four little cards in my gift wrapping! My first two snowmen were created with embossing powder from the Frantage Encrusted Jewel Technique 5-Jar Kits. First I adhered with Dual Tip Glue Pen and then heat embossed them. I colored with watercolor pens and die-cut them with my Big Shot. Lastly, I adhered them to my background with 3D Foam Squares White Mix.

Stampendous Blog Hop and Giveaway - Day 5 Playful Snowman Cards by Stephanie Schutze

The other cute two snowmen were stamped, colored and then die-cut with my Big Shot. To give them a little dimension, I used 3D Foam Squares White Mix. I typed and printed words from the computer. Then distressed the paper and adhered them with 3D Foam Squares.

Margie Higuchi’s Poinsettia Christmas Tag

Hello! I’m excited to be a part of the blog hop today. My holiday tag is full of glitter and tinsel as I was inspired by Wrapped Poinsettia Cling Stamps and Dies Set and Frantage Encrusted Jewel Kit in Silver. Who doesn’t love sparkle?!

Stampendous Blog Hop and Giveaway - Day 5 Christmas Poinsettia Tag by Margie Higuchi

Using a manila tag, I stamped the border design from the Wrapped Poinsettia Cling Stamps and Dies Set with watermark ink and colored with ink to create my own background. Set aside. I stamped the poinsettia twice with vellum, ink in different colors, die-cut them and paper pieced them together with E-Z Runner® Permanent Fine (perfect for vellum!).

For the flower center, I used Adhesive Dots Micro and sprinkled with Silver Halo Glitter Mix from the Frantage Encrusted Jewel Kit in Silver. Next, for the tag, I used Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4″ to create borders, sprinkled with Silver Tinsel Embossing Powder and heat set. Stamp sentiment above the bottom border, adhere the Poinsettia with E-Z Runner® Permanent Fine and thread ribbon. It’s ready!

Tracy McLennon’s Christmas Elf Card

Hello, paper crafters, Tracy here sharing my super cute little Christmas Elf card created using Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L® and Stampendous stamps, dies, and glitter.

Stampendous Blog Hop and Giveaway - Day 4 Christmas Elf Card by Tracy McLennon

To start, I stamped and die-cut this super cute elf and gift designs from the Seated Elf Cling Stamps and Dies Set. I coloured the die cuts with Chameleon Pens. With the Dual Tip Glue Pen, I added glitter from the Frantage Encrusted Jewel Kit for detailing on gift box bow and the elf. Finishing touches include lots of dimension using 3D Foam Squares and another hint of silver with the Creative Photo Corners in silver.

Beth Pingry’s Poinsettia Card

Today I have the pleasure of using the Wrapped Poinsettia cling stamp and die set and the Encrusted Jewel White Kit, along with a little bit of gold EP too. And always, Black Creative Photo Corners and 3D Foam Squares for my adhesives.

Stampendous Blog Hop and Giveaway - Day 4 Poinsettia Christmas Card by Beth Pingry

These stamps and dies are designed to be layered. First I stamped and embossed onto watercolor paper, then colored with watercolor pencils. I brushed in a little bit of water to soften the shades, allowed it all to dry, then die cut.

To create the background I swished watercolor paint onto watercolor paper. Using the Encrusted Jewel Technique, I mixed all the ingredients in the kit (mica, crystal embossing powder, glitter mix, fragments, chunky embossing powder). I spooned it onto two watercolor panels and heated it from the bottom (instructions are included in the kit and on the Stampendous website.)

Wowsers! What a fun and sparkly background technique!

Finish by bending and ‘fluffing’ the pieces of the poinsettia, and adding 3D Foam Squares between the layers to create dimension. I stamped Merry Christmas at the top for a unifying black element. Due to the nature of watercolor paper, I used Premium Double-Sided Tape 1″ to adhere the paper to the light green cardstock.

Jana Maiwald-McCarthy’s Sugar Skull Halloween Cards

Hello Jana here and I created a set of Halloween cards using Sugar Skull Cling Stamps and Dies Set from Stampendous. My color combination is simple and bold black and white, with touches of watercolors. I think they turned out pretty cool!

Stampendous Blog Hop and Giveaway - Day 3 Sugar Skulls Halloween Cards by Jana Maiwald-McCarthy

Glitter from the Frantage Encrusted Jewel Kit were used to highlight two of the images by adhering with Dual Tip Glue Pen. I tried to color one of the sugar skulls, but my skills are not the best 😉

For texture and interest, I added glittered tulle behind the Sugar Skulls. 3D Foam Squares were used for dimension and E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser adhered everything else. Happy Halloween!

Vicki Chrisman’s Polar Bears Card

I fell in love with these Polar Bear Cling Stamps and Dies and decided I wanted to use them to create the card I’m sharing here today. Using non-traditional Christmas colors on this Christmas card, I did a watercolor effect on my background using Distress inks. Next, I stamped the bears and pieces of ice, colored them and die-cut using the coordinating dies in the Polar Bear Cling Stamps and Dies.

Stampendous Blog Hop and Giveaway - Day 3 Polar Bears Card by Vicki Chrisman

The die-cuts were placed on the card panel using 3D Foam Squares White Mix. Rarely do I create a card without using 3D Foam Squares – they give great dimensional effect. You have the option of black or white squares in different sizes, and there’s even rolls of Crafty Foam Tape.

I have a tutorial on creating the background color up on my blog today if you’d like to check it out. Click: Vicki’s blog

Christine Emberson’s Let it Snow Card

Hi everyone, Christine here today and I’m thrilled to take part in the Stampendous Blog Hop.  My project is both festive and cute! To create the adorable snowman and sweet sentiment, I used Stampendous Snowman Trio Cling Stamp and Die Set, along with E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser, Adhesive Dots Large Repositionable, Crafty Foam Tape White and 3D Foam Squares White Small.

My snowy background was created by hand cutting a piece of card with curves and applying Adhesive Dots Large Repositionable on the back to place it on my card panel. I used ink to create the background and because the dots are repositionable, I can remove without leaving a single mark on my card panel.

Happy blog hop everyone! I’m excited to share a 12 x 12″ Halloween layout today using some amazing products from both Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Stampendous.

Using the Halloween Hats Stamp and Die set (CLD02) from Stampendous, I paired the sweet pumpkins and the frail looking black cat with Dual Tip Gue Pen, 3D Foam Squares and my favorite E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser to create custom dimensional embellishments for this layout. In addition, I added interest to the edges of my page I sewed a messy stitched around it. 3 Tips Using E-Z Dots Repositionable Adhesive

Hello everyone! It’s Vicki and today I thought I would share with you 3 different ways I use E-Z Dots® Repositionable adhesives for paper crafting.

Hold Items in Place Temporarily

E-Z Dots® Repositionable work great for holding stencils in place so they don’t move around. You get a nice clean image when you add paint or mist to your paper.  As you can see below, I just add a bit of E-Z Runner® Grand Repositionable Dots Refill adhesive to the back side of the stencil in all four corners. It does a great job of holding your stencil in place, and then easily wipes away with your just use your finger. It won’t damage your paper or stencil  screen.

E-Z Dots Repositonable for stencils

Sewing on Paper

I love to use machine stitching on my handmade cards quite often. It works great to hold my papers in place while I stitch. I add a bit to the back of my paper in the center.  Of course, if you need to reposition the paper, it’s wonderful for being able to lift and move it around for just the right place

E-Z Dots Repositionable for paper sewing

Repositionable Resist Technique

What about using E-Z Dots® Repositionable for a cool resist technique? I used the resist technique on the outside edges of the blue paper.

I used the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser with E-Z Dots® Repositionable Refill around the edge of my pre-cut paper, then misted it. Once the mist was dry, I simply rubbed the dots away to reveal the color underneath for a fun look that adds interest to my card.

E-Z Dots Repositionable as a Resist Technique

I hope these tips for using E-Z Dots® Repositionable Adhesives has your creative wheels turning. I’m sure as you create you will find many other ways for them to make your crafting even more enjoyable!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Mixed Media Round Shaped Card

My project is a mixed media round shaped card. Hi, Lea here and I’m addicted to making round cards! LOL! So today I will share how to create this with a combination of 3D Foam Squares as dimension and how to “Wear Your Adhesives on the Outside” with glitter.

Mixed Media Round Shaped Card by Lea Biccelli for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Creating my shaped card

The card base is a nice cardboard card which I covered with patterned paper. Note that I trimmed a slightly smaller circle and then distressed its circumference edges. Next I attached it with Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/4 in.

Embellishing the card front

I added a pair of floral elements using white acrylic mousse and a stencil. With the Dual Tip Glue Pen, I have adhered scraps of patterned papers, gauze and romantic heart-shaped chipboard.

For handmade embellishments, I drew flowers and leaves and painted them with watercolors. When dried, I fussy cut them. To give various dimension, I either used 3D Foam Squares as is (one layer) or stack two 3D Foam Squares for extra height behind my handmade embellishments.

Another kind of handmade embellishment was to “Wear Your Adhesives on the Outside” with gold glitter and 3D Foam Squares Black Regular. Simply take the top liner off and sprinkle with glitter. Then tap excess off and adhere to your project. In addition, I cut them in smaller pieces to create small highlights here and there.

Finally, I added some splashes of white acrylic, squared die cuts and “with Love” sentiment. It’s ready to give!
