Floral Hello Card

Hi there, my crafty friends! It’s Lisa on the blog today to share a floral hello card that I made using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® products and a few others, too.

LisaAdametz-FloralHello-08112016-1

Since I’m known to be wordy (yes, it’s true — shocking, I know) I decided against a tutorial and to just break down the process. I thought it would be much easier. It’s not a difficult card to make. Just a lot of steps and products. Which is GOOOOOD!! 😉 (Well, the products anyway.)

  1. Stamp and emboss the sentiment using Versamark ink and a gold embossing powder. Heat set. Die-cut using a circle die.
  2. Die-cut scallop circle from yellow floral patterned paper (this creates an open “ring”)
  3. Die-cut another circle to fit behind the patterned paper using white cardstock. Adhere the patterned paper in place using E-Z Runner® Micro Refillable Dispenser. Now adhere the smaller circle on top using 3D Foam Squares – Black, Regular. (Set this piece aside.)
  4. Using the Pennant Set , die cut a rolled flower out of the canvas and a rolled rose out of the denim. I also chose to create another rolled rose out of felt. Secure the ends using DODZ Adhesive Dots 3D.  Set the flowers aside.
  5. Using a fish-tail banner die, use that to make a beautiful fish-tail banner out of blue gingham patterned paper.
  6. Cut a strip out of the yellow patterned paper to fit the center of the card.
  7. And now? Assembly. Adhere the yellow patterned paper using E-Z Runner® Ultra Refillable Dispenser onto a navy card base.
  8. Cut and adhere two tiny strips of white cardstock to fit either side of the yellow patterned paper with the E-Z Runner® Micro Refillable Dispenser.
  9. Attach 4 random strips of the Tissue Tape in Denim along the sides of the card.
  10. Wrap the fish-tail banner in a doubled length of the Twine in Natural and tie in a small bow at the top. Adhere to card front using E-Z Runner® Ultra Refillable Dispenser.
  11. Secure additional 3D Foam Squares – Black, Regular on to the circle piece that was previously set aside and adhere onto the card front.
  12. Now, to secure the flowers I used the Art Medium. Since the flowers are fabric/felt they can occasionally be tricky to hold onto cards. I find that using an art medium is really the best thing to use. Just paint a nice blob on the back and hold it in place for a few seconds, allow it to dry. Those flowers will not go anywhere. Yay! (I also used the  Art Medium to hold my little pearl for the center of the felt flower.)
  13. The last thing that I did was secure a few sequins to the card using the Dodz Adhesive Dots Mini.

See? Like I said, lots of steps but, a very simple card to make! Especially if you have the right adhesives! 😉

Here’s a couple of other views for you!

Coffee and Watercolors!

coffee

Good morning my crafty friends! Michele here with a fun and simple coffee card! I had to pay homage to my fellow DT member Amy 😉  We LOVE our coffee!  I stamped the coffee cup and rings in brown ink and used my Zig water color markers to add splooshes of color around it.  Once it was dry I used my Dodz™ Adhesive Dots Mini to adhere my sequins and to keep my twine in place.

coffee2

I layered the water color panel over a piece of pink and then the kraft card using Crafty Foam Tape in White.  It gives an otherwise simple card a bit of depth.

Thank you for popping in today!!

Scrapbooking Page with Keepsake Envelopes

Hi there,

It’s Stephanie here today I want to show you a Scrapbook Layout on which I used Keepsake Envelopes Mix,  Tissue Tape Denim and Flower and Art Medium.

Stephanie_Layout keepsake_1

Those envelopes are perfect for treasures, little words to keep in mind, letters, findings on your way or at the beach. Keepsake Envelopes Mix comes with transparent envelopes in several sizes.

A few months ago we were on vacation at the Bodensee (south of Germany) and I enjoyed to search for pretty shells and little stones. For these things I used the small envelopes.

Stephanie_Layout keepsake_2

First I prepared my Layout. Instead of a photo I painted a boat and for the water I used the  Tissue Tape Denim

Stephanie_Layout keepsake_3

On my painting I added a coat of the Art Medium. I so love this shiny look and it gives my painting a great protection.

Stephanie_Layout keepsake_5

Then I finished the layout with alpha stickers.

How to Create a Denim and Ribbon Box Topper

Hello crafty friends! Today, I have a Denim and Ribbon Box Topper to show you. It may look hard but it’s quite easy to make.

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-1

To make the Denim and Ribbon medallion, start with 10ʺ each of scallop edge denim ribbon and white organza.

Fold the sheer ribbon off center lengthwise and place the denim ribbon along folded edge. With a needle and piece of twine, make running stitches along edge through all layers.

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-2

Pull twine to gather ribbons and knot ends. Leave opening in center slightly smaller than button.

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-3

Apply piece of Extreme Double-Sided Tape ¼ʺ to ribbon ends.

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-4

Fasten together to form seam.

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-5

Tie twine in button holes.  Apply 1 or 2 Adhesive Dots Large to back of button.  Press onto ribbons medallion.

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-6

Cut piece of sheer ribbon and knot in center. Gather several loops of twine

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-7

Place another Adhesive Dot on back of button.

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-7b

Press twine onto Adhesive Dot.

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-8

Add another Adhesive Dot. Press knot of sheer ribbon onto it.

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-9

Add another Adhesive Dot to fasten to box top.

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-10

Cover top of box with wood look washi tape.

Wrap Extreme Double-Sided Tape ½ʺ around edge of box top. Fasten Denim Ribbons to tape. Tuck end under and fasten with small piece of Extreme Double-Sided Tape.

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-12

Make small card from Kraft card stock, Add piece of washi tape. Write or stamp message.  Punch hole in corner and tie around Denim and Ribbon Topper.

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-13

Ready to add a gift for someone special!

judy_hayes_denim_and_ribbon_box_topper-14

I hope I’ve inspired you to try this technique.  For a different look, try this technique with Lace Ribbons in place of Denim Ribbons.  This would be cute as hair bow as well. Simply sew it to a hair clip.

Thanks so much for visiting!
Happy Crafting!

Love It Layout with E-Z Runner®Grand

Happy Friday! After a long, busy week I hope you’re planning to relax and spend time creating this weekend. To help inspire your creativity, it’s Erica and today I’m sharing a layout using the E-Z Runner® Grand Dispenser dispenser.

Love It Layout with E-Z Runner®GrandI used to be one of those paper crafters that used liquid adhesives to adhere their paper and embellishments together. When fellow paper crafters would ask why I opted for a liquid adhesive I would site a negative past experience with a tape runner/dispenser, you know one of the following: it’s not strong enough to hold my layers together; not refillable; difficult to refill; expensive, etc. I had a laundry list of them (ha!)…and then I tried a Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L dispenser and found myself without excuses. Over the years I have used a variety of our dispensers, but as most of you know from previous blog posts, my one true love is E-Z Runner® Grand Dispenser dispenser.

Love It Layout with E-Z Runner®Grand Love It Layout with E-Z Runner®Grand

Every layer and embellishment on the layout I’m sharing has been adhered using the E-Z Runner® Grand Dispenser dispenser – even the flowers! Not only does this adhesive hold all of my layers in place it is strong enough to hold those heavier embellishments. It’s also super easy to refill – simply replace the cartridge – plus you get 150′ (that’s a lot of adhesive!).

Feeling inspired? Great, enjoy your creative weekend and be sure to try our E-Z Runner® Grand Permanent Strips dispenser – you’ll love it!

Forever Wedding Card Tutorial using Adhesive Sheets

One of my favorite adhesives to use on die cuts is Adhesive Sheets from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®. For those intricate designs, it is a life-saver and a time-saver! With the etched dies (aka thin wafer dies), it cuts like butah – leaves NO MESS on you & on your dies.

Forever Wedding Card Tutorial using Adhesive Sheets by Margie Higuchi for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I trimmed a piece of white cardstock that fit my die and then applied Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6″ to the back. Trim the excess adhesive sheet off and run through your manual die cutting machine. Cuts with no problem/no residue and no mess 🙂  They come in three sizes: 4 x 6″, 6 x 12″ and 12 x 12″.

Next I worked on my background, I colored my card base with Design Memory Craft® Gelatos® (Mango, Watermelon and Raspberry). Then blended with a baby wipe to achieve that trendy watercolor look.

MargieHiguchi 500 ForeverWeddingCard Step4

MargieHiguchi 500 ForeverWeddingCard Step5

While the card base dries, I die cut my sentiment “Forever” with textured gold cardstock and Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6″. Just repeat my earlier step with the background die cuts.

Next I used my test paper (I tested my Gelatos® color combination on a piece of white cardstock) and trimmed to 1.5 x 4.25″ strip. After I edged the strip with Raspberry Gelatos®, I applied adhesive on the back with Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6″.

MargieHiguchi 500 ForeverWeddingCard Step9

I wanted to create interest with the sentiment so I colored my looped threaded wire with Pigment Powder Pink (I rubbed the wire with leftover Adhesive Sheet before coloring). Small flowers were layered with Dodz Adhesive Dots Medium. All were secured with Dodz Adhesive Dots 3D.

Lastly, adhere the sentiment, add touches of purple glitter to the flower center and background.

Gift Bag with my Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Favorites

Hi everyone, Christine here today.  I’ve put together a very easy gift bag project using all my everyday favorites from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.  These are the items that I have on my craft desk to hand…always!

C Emberson - Gift Bag 1

Using a store purchased kraft gift bag I affixed some burlap using  E-Z Runner Permanent Strips Refilliable.

C Emberson - Gift Bag 2

The first die cut is affixed in place with Crafty Power Tape, the beauty of this is that it is so easy to remove the paper backing – makes a quick project even quicker!

C Emberson - Gift Bag 3

To the reverse of a second die cut I attached Crafty Foam Tape.  You can cut this to whatever length you need and again, removing the backing is effortless.

C Emberson - Gift Bag 4

To adhere small embellishments like buttons and charms 3D Foam Squares – White, Small are perfect.

C Emberson - Gift Bag 5

Each element layered up onto the front of the gift bag. Simple to make and speedy with all my favorite Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L products.

Clean and Simple with a POP of 3D Foam Squares

Hello!  It’s Amy with a clean and simple (CAS) card.  What does clean and simple mean to you?  One layer?  I consider myself a CAS designer but struggle with one layer cards.  I always have the need to add more ‘stuff’.

AmyTsuruta-Sometimes-1

Here’s a peek at some of my supplies for today’s project:

AmyTsuruta-Sometimes-2

The E-Z Runner® Grand Dispenser is definitely a go-to adhesive on all your projects.  Are you wondering what I used it on for today’s card?

AmyTsuruta-Sometimes-3

The coffee sleeve was actually fussy cut from a different panel.  It’s easier for me to do the coffee cup as a 2 step process rather than masking.  I used the E-Z Runner® Grand Dispenser to adhere the sleeve to the cup.  The 3D Foam Squares White Regular are great to pop up parts of your design.

Just a Note card Using Dodz Mini

Hi all, AJ here today! Every once in a while, it’s nice to send out a card for no reason other than a hello.  I mean, in the midst of the bills, isn’t it nice to see a non junk mail-bill in the mix?  When I get a chance, I try to whip up a few at a time to have on hand for this very reason!  I often keep it simple and uncomplicated, with the sentiment being the focal point.

AJOtto-JustANote-1

My card today uses the E-Z Runner® Grand Dispenser to adhere my base layer to my shaped card layer. Our 3D Foam Squares is used to pop up all the die cut elements.   To finish off the card, I added a few sequins using our Dodz™ Adhesive Dots Mini.

AJOtto-JustANote-2

I love the Dodz™ Adhesive Dots Mini. Its unique patented single dot dispenser provides touch-free application so you can place your sequins on the backing and lay them on your project to for perfect and easy placement.

Have a great Friday and WEEKEND!  – AJ

Anchor Away Birthday Card

Hello everyone! Today, I’m sharing a card with an anchor and old map that has a very vintage look. It’s perfect for someone who loves the sea!

judy_hayes_AnchorAwayCard_1

My Kraft card base is 4¼ x 6¼ʺ. I often use this size because it’s slightly longer than A4 card yet not quite as large as 5 x 7ʺ. I rubbed ink along the edges.  I added a black layer that was embossed with wood grain folder, a little of the texture shows at the corner.  I added 3 brads before fastening it to the card with E-Z Runner Ultra Permanent. This adhesive really sticks! It’s great for a stronger hold on this textured layer. Next, I cut a piece of patterned paper of an old map and tore off the corner.  It’s distressed with inks. I used E-Z Ultra Permanent to fasten it. Across the lower part are 3 strips of burlap paper, the ends are peaking out along the edge.  These were also fastened with E-Z Runner Ultra Permanent.

Next I took a piece of  Gauze, misted it, and added ink to make it vintage looking. Once it was dry, I used E-Z Runner Ultra Permanent in a few spots to fasten it and then continued to secure it with Art Medium.

To make the anchor, I applied black cardstock to one side of a black 3D Foam Creative Sheet. Then I die cut it on paper side. I like to use the 3D Foam Creative Sheet to give it more thickness than cardstock and for the adhesive backing.  To give it a bronze color, I used diluted Art Medium and Pigment Powder Brown. The consistency was very watery. I brushed it on and immediately dabbed it off with paper towel because I wanted to allow some black to show. After removing the paper backing, I brushed Pigment Powder Brown over sticky side on chain, tips of anchor and any other area that I didn’t want to stick down. I looped a piece of rough twine through anchor and fastened it in place over the gauze. The adhesive backing really held well on the gauze! The twine is glued in place with  Art Medium.

judy_hayes_AnchorAwayCard_2

For “happy birthday” die cut, I applied Adhesive Sheet to black cardstock. Then I die cut it. I applied same wash of Pigment Powder Brown and Art Medium as used on the anchor. The Adhesive Sheet makes it a sticker so it’s easy to place on card. (Tip: Be sure Distress ink is completely dry so it will stick.)

I hope I’ve inspired you to try a new technique with this Anchor Away Birthday Card! Thanks so much for visiting!
