Happy Birthday Card with 3D Foam Stars

Hello everyone! It’s Angela today sharing a fun, bright birthday card I created using the NEW 3D Stars from the Designer Shapes Collection and Adhesive Sheets 4×6”.

Happy Birthday Card with 3D Foam Stars by Angela Ploegman

The background was created by applying an Adhesive Sheet to a 4×6 inch piece of card stock. Crumple some tissue paper (this was party paper with some sparkle already on the tissue paper!), and then re-smooth. Remove the backing from the Adhesive Sheet on the card stock and apply the tissue paper. Gently smooth and trim to size. Love the sparkly textured background this technique creates!

To embellish the 3D Foam Stars, I removed the top backing layer and applied dark grey glitter to the exposed adhesive. After tapping off the excess, I removed the 3D Foam Stars from the backing and applied to the card base.

The E-Z Runner – Permanent Strips Refillable dispenser holds the whole card together and a little Crafty Power Tape on the back of the decorative paper straws hold them neatly in place!

Here’s a detail shot:

Smile Card

Hello, Christine here today with a cute card featuring all the things I like, bunting, hearts and flowers.  The bunting is super special as it is made using the NEW 3D Foam Designer Shapes.  These will be arriving very soon and I can’t wait to show you them all.

This is the bunting set – there is assorted shapes, I chose the traditional triangular for my card.  They are high density and double sided high-tack.

Simply placed my shape on patterned paper and cut around. Instant adhesive bunting!

The background of my card is an M-Bossabilities™ folder – Tweets and Twigs.  The pretty paper is My Mind’s Eye – Cut and Paste collection.  Adhering my elements is simple using E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refilliable.

My other decorative elements – Lace Heart, Spiral Blossom Three (cut from felt) and Classic Heart are affixed with 3D Foam Squares – Regular.

My finished card – applying the bunting over twine is simple and effective.

A close up photo.

The very cute bunting!

Thank you for joining me today.

You’re My Star Card

Hi, it’s Beth today, with a card featuring our new 3D Foam Stars. Let me show you how easy this is to make.

You Are My Star card by Beth Pingry

First, I peeled three 3D Foam Stars from the full sheet, and placed them on a separate piece of backing paper (when I finish a sheet of 3D Foam, I keep the empty sheets for just this purpose!), and peeled off the top layer of the outer star, then added glitter.BethPingry-stars2

Next, I used the tip of my craft knife to carefully lift the liner off the center star, and added a different color of glitter. Be sure to tap off the excess between colors!

I cut four squares of kraft paper, 1.5 x 1.5″, then matted them with 1.75 x 1.75″ black cardstock, adhered with E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable adhesive.

BethPingry-Stars4

I transferred the stars to the matted squares with a craft knife. Then I stamped the sentiment on the last square, and added them all to the card front with 3D Foam Squares Black Regular size.

We call this Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside, where you utilize the adhesive as an embellishment instead hiding it between the layers of your projects. Its fun, easy and you can do it with all of our products!

Thanks for coming by today! Look for the all the new 3D Foam Designer Shapes starting in October!

Embossing Clear Keepsake Envelopes

Hello! Kimberly here with a fun discovery I made a few days ago. I love happy paper crafting accidents, don’t you? This one all started with a pile of embossing folders on my table and a package of Keepsake Envelopes from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®.

The Keepsake Envelopes come in a pack of 10, in assorted sizes. The cool part about them, aside from being a great way to store items, is that they are self adhesive! You can see the white backing, protecting the adhesive, in the photo above. The adhesive is clear, so once the backing is removed, it will not be seen on your project.

Simply place the Keepsake Envelope inside your embossing folder. (I used the one measuring 2 1/8″ x 4 /18.”) I placed the envelope flap closed, to keep the embossed pattern the same, in case I chose to close it. Pass this through your manual die cutting machine, per your manufacturer’s instructions for embossing with folders.

Once you remove the Keepsake Envelope, it will look like this. Even the backing gets embossed, but it does not cause a problem.

I used my Keepsake Envelope on this card. It holds a tag with the Eiffel Tower and other various Paris ephemera. Someday I will visit Paris, but until then, I will continue to dream!

Here is a closer look at the embossed texture. Its pretty cool!

Thanks for stopping by!

Embellishing 3D Foam Hearts

Hi, it’s Beth today! I have a card showing an embellished 3D Foam Heart shape using embossing powder. Yes, you can heat emboss our 3D Foam!

Embellished Heart Card by Beth Pingry for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Start by layering Graphic 45’s Bird Song Collection patterned paper onto the card base, with Black Photo Corners to frame the design. Trim a patterned paper tag and mat it with black cardstock, then adhere it with E-Z Squares® Refillable. A satin ribbon is tied through the tag, and adhered with Black 3D Foam Squares for dimension.

To embellish the 3D Foam Heart, place the heart on the tag, then remove the top liner to reveal the adhesive. Sprinkle embossing powder and heat it until the powder is melted. The 3D Foam is high density and stands up to heat, it doesn’t curl or melt!

This card is easy and fast, and would be great as a birthday or thinking of you card, just change up the sentiment inside!

You can add media such as glitter, micro beads, mica flakes, flock and even Metallic Transfer Foil to the adhesive surface of 3D Foam Shapes. You can find lots of inspiration when you click here: Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside.

Thanks for coming in today, please leave a comment and tell us what you embellish with!

Layout – Secret Place

Hi there, it’s Stephanie here today with a layout made with a memory from our holiday in Italy.

I was inspired by the old church on the photo an added a little bit of mixed media techniques.

I made a step by step tutorial for this, you can follow the process.

1 – My first step was to sprinkle with watercolor paint on tissue paper. I have always wanted to try this for a layout.

2 – Preparing my photos and paper. I decided to use two photos with the same motif but in different sizes.

3 – Adhering the bigger photo with the E-Z Dots Permanent refillable dispenser.

4 – Sticking on the tissue paper with the E-Z Dots Permanent refillable dispenser.

5 – Sticking on a piece of book page with the E-Z Dots Permanent refillable dispenser.

6 – Fixing the photo with 3D Foam Squares.

7 – Blending with the Chalk Edgers from Ingvild Bolme.

8 – Adhering some Sequins by using the  DODZ ADhesive Dots Small

9 – Sticking on a little embellishment with the 3D Foam Squares Small White

10 – Under the sticker of the camera (Studio Calico) is a  3D Foam Squares Small White added to push it in the front. Paper rolls, sticker and a little quote are adhering with the E-Z Dots Permanent Refillable dispenser

11 – Sticking on a Prima clock (from the back of a packing) with the E-Z Dots Permanent refillable dispenser

12 – Finishing the layout with my title by using some alpha stickers and a alpha “S” from Donna Downey by adhering it with the E-Z Dots Permanent refillable dispenser.

Thanks for visiting! I wish you a nice day!

Happy Day Card – Repositionable Adhesive Resist Technique

Hello there! It’s Angela today sharing a card featuring a custom background created with the E-Z Dots Repositionable Dispenser.

Happy Day Card - Repositionable Adhesive Resist Technique by Angela Ploegman for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3LHappy Day Card – Repositionable Adhesive Resist Technique

The background was inspired by Stephanie’s mixed media scrapbook page post, posted here: Mixed Media scrapbook page. Stephanie inspired me to get out my misting masks. When I was using the E-Z Dots Repositionable Dispenser to help keep the mask in place on the white card stock, the inspiration struck to fill in the design with the dots as an additional resist.

1. Hold the stencil in place by applying the E-Z Dots Repositionable adhesive to the back of the stencil and apply it to the smooth side of the white card stock:

2. Fill in the positive spaces on the stencil with more E-Z Dots Repositionable Adhesive:

3. Mist, let dry and then remove the stencil. Remove the repositionable adhesive with your fingertips:

Here is a side by side comparison of the background design with and without the additional repositionable adhesive masking:

I love the extra depth this technique gives to the design!

4. Swap a E-Z Runner Permanent Strips Refill into the E-Z Dots Repositionable Dispenser and adhere the background to a black card base:

5. Arrange two double wide strips of the Crafty Foam Tape-Black 13′ diagonally across the upper left and lower right of the card as shown below, remove the backing, place the sentiment tag and cover the remaining exposed foam tape with glittered black flock:

6. Embellish with gems:

Mini Gift Card

Hello!  Christine here today with a mini gift card.  I’ve gone for a natural look and with the help of Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L products it was very quick to make.  Great to have a supply of these mini cards to hand at home.

Mini Gift Card Holder by Christine Emberson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I trimmed a piece of natural hessian (burlap) to mat onto a piece of cardstock using the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable.  This new shape dispenser fits snugly in your hand and enables you to direct the adhesive strips exactly where you need them.

Using a die template I cut a piece of chipboard and some pretty paper.

Using an Adhesive Sheet I was able to stick my die cut straight onto the chipboard.

My E-Z Runner® is in use again to adhere my chipboard.  I wrapped a little twine to add to the natural look.

I selected a metal embellishment that complemented the shape of the die cut.  3D Foam Squares are strong enough to hold weighty embellishments too.

The finished mini gift card.

Thank you for joining me today.

Here is a list of the super sticky products I have used:

Chalkboard Art Ensemble

Hi! Kimberly here and I am excited to share my CHA artwork with you today! The best part of creating these projects is knowing that all the adhesives I need to make everything come together were on my desktop! Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® truly has the best adhesives!

The start of this ensemble was the chalkboard. My grandpa used to always sing this song, so when I saw the digital cut file on the Silhouette online store, I knew it was perfect!

To learn more about creating the chalkboard look see this tutorial: Creating Handwritten Chalkboards with Repositional Adhesive.

The apple bushel baskets were also digitally cut. I love creating 3D paper items and my Crafty Power Tape holds them together, well.

The Crafty Power Tape also holds lace and Fun Flock! I applied the Crafty Power Tape to the top of the bushel basket, removed the backing, and sprinkled generously with Fun Flock. I burnished it in and tapped off the excess. A fun, fall-ish addition!

These store bought apples needed a handmade touch, so I punched hearts from patterned paper, creased them in half, and adhered them with Dodz™ Small.

Here is a look at the card in the ensemble. This time I used a metal die template to cut out the tree. I cut it twice, once from brown card stock and once from patterned paper.

Piecing together intricate die cuts can be painful. E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable has been my solution. After having issues trying other types of adhesive, I thought about the dots and realized how easy they are to remove, if they somehow land where they don’t belong. And the best part is, that really doesn’t happen often. Its the perfect solution! Run the E-Z Dots® on your project and be happy!

The last little touch on the chalkboard was this cute set of burlap pennants. While I made them with die templates, I cannot wait to try out the new Designer Shapes that have pennants!! Stay tuned for those!

thanks for stopping by!
