A Card and a Gift Bag

I want to share with you today a card and a little gift bag.

First let’s take a look at the card.

I used that back of a Imaginisce packaging to create the background of the card. The doilies were sprayed with glimmer mist and then applied to the card using the E-Z Runner Permanent Fine Adhesive Dispenser. Then I sprayed some Creative Photo Corners White and created a little border at the top of the striped paper and added a little strip of paper on top of the photo corners.

I used Crafty Foam Tape to apply the die cuts.

And then on to the little gift bag:

For this little bag I used the packaging of Imaginisce Die Cuts and left the backing in.

I punched a border on a striped piece of paper and folded it over the top of the bag and stapled it on. A sticker was put on top and then I applied the die cut pieces with Crafty Foam Tape. For the little buttons I used Crafty Power Tape.

A quick and easy way to create a personal little gift for a special person!

Feeling “Springy”

Welcome to the SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L™ and Imaginisce^®Blog Hop! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for Spring! Working with this fun line really makes me long for it. Totally fun patterns and bright happy colors! Hippity Hop Collection.

I used my Spellbinders die for the background of the flower and used 3D Foam Squares to give a cute little Bird cage paper embellishment off of the page for dimension. I did the same under each of the leaves, title, and buttons.

I used E-Z Runner® Permanent Fine Adhesive for the rest of the construction of my layout. I love using Crafty Power Tape for thin long strips like the stem of the flower, and the word strips I used in the photo below.

Hippity Hop Easter Banner

I have an Easter Banner tutorial today!

And it’s sooooo easy to make! First I die cut the pieces, six of each.

Next I made the florets, which look tricky, but really they’re pretty simple. I die cut the edges for a fun design.

Fold at 1/2 inch intervals. Do mountain/valley folds the whole length, then adhere the ends to form a circle. MyStik™ Permanent Strips work perfectly for this.

Push the straight edges toward the center, with the decorative cut edges to the outside. Place a Dodz 3D Adhesive Dot at the center of the top, then flip it over and add a Dodz 3D to the bottom. Dodz come out of the dispenser with a clear plastic transfer sheet so you don’t have to touch the adhesive.

The clear transfer sheet stays on, and this allowed me to make several florets at once, and have them on my work space without sticking to everything!

I assembled the banner parts with the Nested Lacey Pennants, then the Nested Pennants using 3D Foam Squares, then the florets with Dodz 3D, and then the Imaginisce colored die cuts. The top Dodz piece not only holds the floret together, it holds the next layer!

Now just string ribbon through the back side and hang it up!

Sewing Box with Adhesive Sheets and Tissue Paper

Today’s project is an altered paper box. I’m still on my sewing kick, even though I can hardly sew a button on…but at least I’m on trend, right? Here I have a tutorial for an altered Sewing Box. Creating the Sewing Box

For the box, I covered it first with Adhesive Sheets. Then I stamped an image onto tissue paper, crumpled the tissue paper and placed pieces onto the Adhesive Sheet covered box. I smoothed it down with my hands. To tone down the contrast I finished it with a wash of watered down white paint.

The chipboard shapes were painted with crackle paint. I die cut the doily shape and adhered it with Adhesive Sheets. I added the crackle painted chipboard shapes with Crafty Power Tape and Crafty Foam Tape – Black. The letter tiles and button are adhered with Crafty Power Tape.

I measured a length of black ribbon to fit around the box and secured it with Crafty Power Tape. I applied Crafty Foam Tape to the back side of the measuring tape ribbon and added it to the top of the black tape.

You can use Crafty Foam Tape to add dimension to ribbon, large items and so much more! Now in Black and White, you’ll find yourself reaching for the roll with every project!

Valentine Banner

Hello everyone!

Valentines day is on it’s way, so I thought it would be fun to create a Valentine Banner with my AccuCut Banner Die, Crafty Secrets Vintage Valentine Kit, Epiphany Crafts goodness …and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Adhesives.

It was so easy to put together . I used E-Z Dots Minis and Thin 3D Foam Squares ( to add just a touch of dimension).

I used select pieces of the images that I had printed off to punch with my Epiphany tool and add the epoxy piece to. I added them to the center of brightly colored Fancy Pants Buttons and used them as embellishments to the banner pieces.

A little machine stitching….

some ribbon and trims…….

and there you have it … a fun Valentine banner , all ready to hang.

Back to School Card

The return to school after the winter break is almost as sweet as the first day of school in the fall. So why not celebrate the little things, like a a quiet house!

Back to School Card Tutorial by Beth Pingry for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L I created this stand up card from one single sheet of card stock, then embellished it with patterned paper. I started with an 8½ x 11″ sheet, scored it at 3″ on each side, then turned it sideways and scored the center at 2½”. Then I carefully trimmed along those center lines.

I pulled images from the Graphic 45 “An ABC Primer Collection”, and adhered them with the new black Crafty Foam Tape from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L™.

I love the Crafty Foam Tape! I love how the black color hides behind the images, giving it height without shouting “hey, I’m here!” PLUS I can trim the Crafty Foam Tape to exactly the length I need.

I trimmed images from the paper collection and adhered with both Crafty Foam Tape and E-Z Dots® Permanent adhesives. I folded the cardstock so that the center section pops out and the entire card stands on it’s own.

This card, folded up, will fit in a standard business size envelope for mailing. I could mail it to my sister when she gets her teaching degree, or I could keep it as home decor for my son’s graduation at the end of this school year.

A Glitter Valentine’s Day Card

I made a fun and sparkly Valentine’s Day card for today. Even if you are still sweeping up from the holidays (like me!), you can start getting your Valentines celebrations started!

The focal point is a rose image from Crafty Secrets. I placed it a SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L™ Adhesive Sheet then punched it in the Epiphany Crafts EC Shape Studio tool. I adhered it to a silver charm setting with a bubble cap on top of it. I love how this looks!

I positioned it inside the glittered heart with Black Crafty Foam Tape (a new product available in February)! I love that I can cut longer pieces of Crafty Foam Tape to fit the size of my project.

The glittered hearts are a combination of card stock and an Adhesive Sheet. I die cut it with a Classic Heart from Spellbinders, then applied red glitter to the die cut heart. I covered the negative piece with white glitter. I adhered both glittered pieces onto the card base then covered them with patterned kraft paper and black card stock that had been die cut with a Classic Scalloped Heart die.

Altered Photo Box

Hello Everyone! Well, I’m sure most of use are winding down from the Holidays now. What a perfect time for a fun, creative (no stress) project. This was so fun to make. I just laid my papers out where I thought I wanted them, and added photos and other fun things as I went.

I wanted to create a project to hold some recent photos I took of my nephew and his family. I found this box at a second hand store. Loving to re purpose anything, I snatched it up. Sometimes you have to look past your first impression when you see something.. and just think about what it “could be”.

This was bad! I wish I would have taken a “before” picture. It was mauve and country blue, and had little people and sheep. lol Also wooden letters that said “Bless my County Kitchen”. I used Fancy Pants “Winterland” line for this project and Scrapbook Adhesives Adhesives. I even got to use one of the new products that will be released at CHA. Shhhh… but I have to tell you, I totally loved it for projects just like this. I’ve always loved the white foam tape for projects that I want to add dimension too..but now… we’ll have the choice of white or black. For a project like this.. where I’m using darker colors , it was great!

You can see in the photos below how great it is for added lift and dimension to longer borders, photos and for adding trims.

Of course I used my handy dandy MyStik® for the non dimensional pieces I was adding , and Crafty Power Tape for the longer pieces and ribbon.

It always feels good to take something someone else has discarded and making something fun and new with it ..that you just know will make someone smile. I can wait to give it to them 🙂

Merry Christmas – Vintage Style Glass Block

The Holidays are in full swing, and if you are like me, this means you are busy crafting and making pretty things to give out as gifts. For today’s post, I am showing you a quick and easy handmade glass block home decor gift using SCRAPBOOKS by 3L™, Epiphany Crafts, Spellbinders, and Graphic 45 products.

Vintage Style Christmas Glass Block- Home Decor - by Kristen Cohen for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I started with a glass block from a craft store. The vintage Santa is from the Christmas Past Frames from Graphic 45. I punched him out, and then applied an Adhesive Sheet to the back.

Once applied, because the adhesive is transparent, when you view the glass block from behind, all you will see it the pretty pattern on the back – NOT the adhesive 🙂 Once the Santa was applied to the block, I die cut some gorgeous poinsettias using the Layered Poinsettia die from Spellbinders. I mixed and matched the papers and layered them using a mix of 3D Foam Squares and the NEW Thin 3D Foam Squares. The different thicknesses allowed for a more realistic depth to the flowers.

See that wonderfully vintage looking metal center? It was just the touch I needed to finish off that flower and add some visual weight to the arrangement. The center is a custom made accent using Epiphany Crafts products! Let me give you some tips –

First, I found an image that would work nicely with the center bubble cap –

Next, and here is the important part – before using the EC Shape Studio Tool , I applied an adhesive sheet to the back of the image. This way, once it is punched out, the back will be sticky and I can easily apply it to the metal charm setting. The adhesive sheets are so thin, they do not add any additional bulk to the paper – so they easily punch out with the tool. 🙂

The last step is to adhere the metal charm to the center of the poinsettia – for this, I used more 3D Foam Squares. Easy Peasy.
