DIY Tag Bookmarks

Hi, everyone! Do you like to read? Got a child who does? Make reading more fun this Summer by making some DIY Tag Bookmarks. These bookmarks are easy to make with stamps, cardstock, and products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

DIY Tag Bookmarks by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Making a DIY Tag Bookmark

Start by cutting a  2 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ panel of cardstock. You can use any color you want.

Decorate the cardstock panel with stamps, patterned paper, die-cuts and, even, stickers! (In my case, I used just stamps and patterned paper.) A word to the wise: You want your panel to remain flat so you should refrain from adding any bulky embellishments to it.

Pull out a Self-Laminating Card Pouch. You want to make sure you’re using a small sized pouch. Open it up and place your card on the clear side.

Remove the white paper from the other side of the pouch and seal the pouch. Use your hand or bone folder to smooth out any bubbles that might have occurred when you sealed the pouch!

Complete your DIY tag bookmark by using a hole punch to poke a hole through it and add some yarn. Not a fan of yarn? Use twine, jute, ribbon or a scrap of fabric instead.

Like the results? Try it again but mix things up by decorating future tag bookmarks with slightly different supplies! Another idea? If you are giving your DIY tag bookmarks away, consider writing personalized notes on the back of cards before you laminate them.

DIY Mosaic Background with Click ‘n Stick

Hi! Dana Tatar here today sharing a colorful layout that was super fun to create. I played with pattern and color to create a mosaic background from patterned paper squares for my scrapbook layout. I was inspired to create a mosaic element from a similar scrapbook design by Paige Taylor Evans.

DIY Mosaic Background with Click 'n Stick by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

The Click ‘n Stick™ Mounting Squares saved me a lot of time when putting together this background. I cut a piece of colorful scrapbook paper into 1/2-inch squares to assemble the mosaic feature. The mounting squares measure 0.4 inches square, so my paper squares were just a little bit larger, which allowed for some wiggle room.

How to Assemble a Mosaic Background

DIY Mosaic Background with Click 'n Stick by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Begin by cutting 1/2-inch squares from a piece of patterned paper. I chose a solid piece of cardstock to use for the base of my tile design that measured 9×9.5 inches. I cut 240 patterned paper squares to build my colorful background. The Click ‘n Stick™ dispenser-box easily apply double-sided adhesive squares. This touch-free adhesive is ready to use, without fussy tabs to remove.

View a quick video on How to Use Click ‘n Stick Adhesive below.

I first attached a row of squares across the top of my cardstock base. I then repeated the process down one side of the cardstock. These two rows of squares served as my guidelines. I was then able to quickly fill in the mosaic design. I didn’t worry about lining up the squares exactly. A slightly off-center position adds some “movement” to what would be a very static layout.

Finishing Touches

DIY Mosaic Background with Click 'n Stick by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I used the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser with the Permanent Dots Refill to attach die-cuts across the center of the page. To add dimension to my design I used Crafty Foam Tape to attach the photo to the page. Lastly, I added a White Photo Corner to the top of the photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to create your own paper-pieced background.

How to Create DIY Colored Crepe Paper Flowers

Hello again crafters! Terri here, with an easy DIY project that turns ordinary white crepe paper rolls into beautifully colored crepe flowers! I’ve got a quick video at the end as well, showing you how to easily spin and twirl these pretty blossoms. Let’s get started, shall we?

How to Create DIY Crepe Paper Flowers by Terri Burson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Gather Your Tools

First let’s gather our coloring tools and supplies.  You will need:

Coloring the Crepe Paper

1.  Add water to a large glass bowl or pie plate to just barely cover the bottom with water.  It’s important that you do not overfill or over-saturate the crepe paper. Spritz several times with a variety of ink sprays into the water and stir gently.

How to Create DIY Crepe Paper Flowers by Terri Burson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

2.  Dip the entire roll of white crepe paper face down into the mixture, soaking up most or all of the water.

How to Create DIY Crepe Paper Flowers by Terri Burson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

3.  Now, spritz a little more spray into the empty pie plate and dip the crepe paper into the added mixture. I chose to only use my darkest shade of purple for this step. As you can see, the watercolored mixture will begin soaking up about halfway down the side of the roll. Do not soak the entire roll.

This roll needs to dry. I did not want to risk using a heat tool and burning my crepe paper. Find a warm, sunny spot in your house and let dry naturally on a cookie rack. This may take a day, possibly two. Or, you could do like I did and let it sit on the dash of your car in the hot sun while you’re at work!

Rolling the Flowers

4.  Next, place the E-Z Runner® Grand Repositionable Dots Refill cartridge into your E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser. Using repositionable adhesive make it easier to repair any mistakes by unrolling and re-rolling your strips of crepe paper.

How to Create DIY Crepe Paper Flowers by Terri Burson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

5.  Cut 3 strips of crepe paper to desired length for one flower. I cut approximately 14″ for each strip. The more strips you use, the larger your bloom. You can also use just one strip for very small blossoms.

How to Create DIY Crepe Paper Flowers by Terri Burson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

6. Apply your Repositionable Dots adhesive along the length of the crepe paper strips, on the bottom, non-colored portion. The advantage of using the E-Z Runner® Grand Repositionable Dots Refill is that it won’t tear your crepe paper. Yet, it magically holds everything together. Wow!

7.  Begin rolling, in the direction that is most comfortable for you. As you roll, you will want to pinch and gather the bottom after each turn, to help form your shape.

Crepe Flower Buds

As you can see below, this is the size of a blossom with just one strip of colored, crepe paper. You can view my short video at the end of this post, if you’d like to see the rolling in action.

How to Create DIY Crepe Paper Flowers by Terri Burson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

You can easily peel your flowers off the wooden dowel for use in a decorative bowl, or you can leave in place and decorate your dowel for use in a vase. If you like, you can embellish your flowers even further by adding a touch of glue from the Dual Tip Glue Pen along the line of your petals, and dusting with extra fine glitter.

You’ll see me talk about this in the video below.

How to Create DIY Crepe Paper Flowers by Terri Burson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I’m so excited about the possibilities that this opens up, by coloring your crepe flowers!  Using the E-Z Runner® Grand Repositionable Dots Refill to achieve this makes all the difference.  No worries about tearing your crepe paper either! Check out my video below, if you’d like to see how easy it is to roll these crepe flowers in just  3 minutes or less! If I can do it, you can do it! Lastly, stop by my blog, Waving My Wand, if you’d like product links for the craft items that I used today.  See you next time….  Terri

Abstract Jewel Card and Refilling the E-Z Runner Grand

Hello everyone, Yvonne here!  Yes… after many months of intense use, and over one hundred cards made, I managed to use up my first Refill of 150ft of Permanent Strips! Today I have a jewel embellished abstract watercolored card for you.

Replacing the Refill

First I will show you how to replace the refill of the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser. Remember to remove the protective nose cap of the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser.

Then press the button on the left side to open the casing. Lift the refill cartridge. Replace with a new E-Z Runner® Grand Permanent Strips Refill.

Note that you can replace the refills at any time, if you want to switch between the other adhesives: Permanent Dots, Repositionable Dots, or Ultra Strong.

Notice there are 3 prongs inside the casing, simply line up the refills with the prongs. There is no winding or threading, and it takes about 30 seconds or less!

Finish by closing the top cover. Yes…it is that simple to get ready for a lot more crafting!

Making the Abstract Jewel Card

Abstract Jewel Card and Refilling the E-Z Runner Grand by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Start by making the watercolored background. For my card I used pigment powder which was sprinkled over a piece of white cardstock and then gently sprayed some water with mister. Let it dry thoroughly or use a heat tool to dry.

The watercolored cardstock is adhered to salmon cardstock and a white card base using my freshly refilled E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser.

Now die-cut and emboss the abstract element from gold cardstock. Adhere the element to the card using 3D Foam Squares White Mix. If necessary cut the 3D Foam Squares into small strips to fit the die cut.

Adhere the jewels to the gold die cut using Adhesive Dots Mini.

Finally finish the card with small vertical strips from the narrow end of the Dual Tip Glue Pen, and sprinkle it with glitter while it’s still wet. Allow it to dry, about 5 minutes.

Wishing you happy crafting!

Discovery Tag – Mixed Media Using the Dual Tip Glue Pen

Welcome back, crafty friends! Let’s get messy and have a little mixed media fun with this Discovery tag using the Dual Tip Glue Pen.

Sometimes you just feel like getting a little messy. Let’s get out those sprays, mediums, glitters and more and get crafting. Here are all of the messy details and instructions to create this Mixed Media Tag.

Discovery Tag - Mixed Media tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Discovery Mixed Media Tag Tutorial

First I took my large tag and created a simple blended background using various colors of inks.

Discovery Tag - Mixed Media tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I used water to splatter the tag and dried it with a heat gun. Then comes out the Home Hobby by 3L Dual Tip Glue Pen and a paintbrush.

Discovery Tag - Mixed Media tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I added a pretty good glob of the liquid adhesive from the Dual Tip Glue Pen onto my non-stick craft mat.

Discovery Tag - Mixed Media tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Using my flat edged paintbrush I brushed strips of the adhesive across the body of the tag. You can see in the photo below, how the adhesive even altered the color slightly, which I loved.

While the Dual Tip Glue Pen liquid adhesive was still wet at the edges of the brush strokes, I added a white glitter mix for some sparkle. Let dry.

Discovery Tag - Mixed Media tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Once this was dry, I then added splatters of color to the tag from coordinating misters. Then dragged the edges in watered down black ink.

I added a simple white linen ribbon bow to the top of the tag adding that sweet little metal star embellishment. I added black burlap string to the key then added the key using 3D Foam Squares White Small and the metal wings to the tag using Adhesive Dots Mini.

Finally, I stamped the words Discovery and Journey onto the tag using black ink and outlined them with a black journal pen.

Butterflies, Dragonflies, and Glitter Card Tutorial

Hello! Valerie here today, and today I’m featuring a pretty summertime card featuring glitter and several Scrapbook Adhesive products. The focal point is on 3D Foam Butterflies and Adhesive Dots Micro for this all occasion card.

Butterflies, Dragonflies, Glitter Card tutorial by Valerie Ward

The Card Tutorial

Create Four Mini Frames

For this step, you’ll need your white cardstock, the 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit, scalloped mini frame dies, and a die cutting machine.

In the first step I created white frames. First, I peeled off the backing of one of the 3D Foam Creative sheets from the 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit and adhered a piece of white cardstock over the entire piece; I kept the backing on the other side. Next, turn it over to the white side that has the white cardstock on it, and place your 4 mini frame dies on it. Then run it through your die cutting machine. Set them aside for now.

Break out the Glitter!

Here is where we create the glittery butterflies and dragonflies! Select your favorite shapes from the 3D Foam Butterflies kit, and get 4 colors of glitter.

I’m using the dragonfly. First I removed it from the sheet, laid it sticky-side UP on a surface, and poured the glitter on. I picked it up with tweezers, poured off the excess glitter and set it aside. Repeat with the different bugs (lol – bugs) and different colors of glitter for each one (if you want 4 different colors, that is).

Embellish the Card Base and 4 Frames

Using the patterned paper, flip it back-side-up, and apply adhesive from your E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser. Line it up on your card base and apply.

You’ve already die cut your 4 mini frames, so for this step I hand cut 4 backgrounds for the frames from coordinating patterned paper. I lined them up where I wanted them to go, then applied adhesive from my E-Z Squares® Refillable Dispenser to the backs of each one and attached them to the card.

Next get the 4 die cut frames, and peel off the backing from them. Apply them to the card over the backgrounds for each one.

It’s really starting to come together now!

Add the Pretty Bugs

Now go get those 4 pretty bugs and decide which frames to place them in. Remove the backings, and adhere them inside the frames.

Embellish the Frames

Next I decided this card needed something more to jazz up the frames. I pulled out some mini sequins and my box of Adhesive Dots Micro. These sticky dots are amazing! They are very strong and easy to use.

Adhesive Dots Micro and Sequins -a perfect match!

Adhesive Dots dispense from the box on a clear liner.  Just pull one square out of the box, lay the sticky dot where you want it applied, press it on the spot, and pull off the liner. No touch application! Then you can put your sequin on top of the Adhesive Dot, and it sticks right down. I suggest using tweezers with the sequins.

No-touch application for Adhesive Dots!

This step took MAYBE 5 minutes, tops. I couldn’t resist taking a shot of the pile of the Adhesive Dots clear liners. 😉

The card is finished! I was so happy with this final result. All the sparkle is so pretty, and the texture with the sequins was the perfect final touch.

Big, Bold and Bright with E-Z Runner Grand

Hi everyone, Christine here today with a big, bold and bright gift bag.  This is a large bag so without hesitation, I reached for my E-Z Runner Grand® Refillable Dispenser – perfect for this job!

Big Bold Bright Gift Bag Tutorial by Christine Emberson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

A Bright Bag Tutorial

I selected my gift bag, bright patterned papers, kraft card and my trusty E-Z Runner Grand® Refillable Dispenser.  This is a large dispenser but only weighs 6 oz and that grip handle is perfect to hold and maneuver.

I affixed kraft card behind all patterned paper panels.

For the quote panel, I used 3D Foam Squares White Regular affixed to the reverse side, cannot resist that extra dimension.

Along with my patterned paper panels, I added die cut flowers with 3D Foam Circles White –  a perfect size for these.  They come in a mixed pack of two sizes, also available in black, so that suits all your embellishments.

Finish the bag with gold leaves die cuts and gold pearls to the flower centers.

Embroidery Hoop Mail Pocket Tutorial

Greetings!  Shellye McDaniel here today to share a fun new idea on sending snail mail with an Embroidery Hoop Mail Pocket!

Let’s Get This Hoop Started!

To begin, you will need a  9″ bamboo embroidery hoop and some of your favorite double-sided scrapbook paper.  From Scrapbook Adhesives you will use: Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/8 inch, Dual Tip Glue Pen, Adhesive Dots Large and 3D Foam Circles White Mix.

The first step is to add a panel of paper to the back of the hoop.

You will need to separate the hoops. Trace the outer edge of the inner hoop onto patterned paper and cut out.

Use the Dual Tip Glue Pen to add glue around the rim of the hoop.  Next, attach the circle of patterned paper.

To construct the pocket, trace the outside edge of the larger hoop onto patterned paper.  You will only need a half-circle, so keep that in mind when tracing.  Cut the paper and leave approximately 1/4″ margin.  Next, make cuts from the margin’s edge to the trace mark to create pleats (as shown above).

For the pocket, you will want a high tack adhesive: Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4 inch. Apply the adhesive around the outer edge.

Now that the pocket has been added, reattach the outer hoop and secure in place with the tension knob.

Let’s Decorate!

4 X 6 Journal Cards make perfect mini pockets!

First, you will need to score the two sides and bottom of the card 1/4″ from the edge.

Next, fold along the score lines and apply a strip of Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4 inch to the folds.  Attach to the center of the larger pocket.

I am not a “flat sticker” kind of girl, so I almost always use 3D Foam Circles or Squares to give them dimension!

For the button application, I used the Adhesive Dots Large or whatever size you need depending on the button size.

When decorating the vintage button cards, I also used 3D Foam Adhesive and Adhesive Dots:

Larger tags and mini envelopes were stuffed into the larger pocket.  Add ribbons, bows and other ephemera pieces that your snail mail recipient will love!

Sparkle and Shine with 3D Foam Stars

After finding inspiring star CAS design cards on Pinterest, I created one of my own using 3D Foam Stars and ribbon. The ribbons were cut to size and adhered to the white cardstock panel with E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.

Make Your Cards Sparkle and Shine with 3D Foam Stars by Linsey Rickett for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

3D Foam Stars can be embellished in many different ways. Place two nesting medium size 3D Stars together onto the card panel at the end of each ribbon. To keep its shape, make sure to have the top liner on until you’re ready to embellish.

Remove the outer line of the star and apply with silver foil from the 3D Foam Holiday Embellishment Kit. Make sure the color side is facing you. Gently rub to transfer the foil to the star. It’s that simple…no tools! Next, color in rainbow colors using alcohol markers.

Now for the sparkle, remove the inner liner of the star and sprinkle glitter and press down to secure before tapping off the excess. Repeat these steps for embellishing the rest of the stars.

Stamp the sentiment in black ink and then heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
