Layout – Secret Place

Hi there, it’s Stephanie here today with a layout made with a memory from our holiday in Italy.

I was inspired by the old church on the photo an added a little bit of mixed media techniques.

I made a step by step tutorial for this, you can follow the process.

1 – My first step was to sprinkle with watercolor paint on tissue paper. I have always wanted to try this for a layout.

2 – Preparing my photos and paper. I decided to use two photos with the same motif but in different sizes.

3 – Adhering the bigger photo with the E-Z Dots Permanent refillable dispenser.

4 – Sticking on the tissue paper with the E-Z Dots Permanent refillable dispenser.

5 – Sticking on a piece of book page with the E-Z Dots Permanent refillable dispenser.

6 – Fixing the photo with 3D Foam Squares.

7 – Blending with the Chalk Edgers from Ingvild Bolme.

8 – Adhering some Sequins by using the  DODZ ADhesive Dots Small

9 – Sticking on a little embellishment with the 3D Foam Squares Small White

10 – Under the sticker of the camera (Studio Calico) is a  3D Foam Squares Small White added to push it in the front. Paper rolls, sticker and a little quote are adhering with the E-Z Dots Permanent Refillable dispenser

11 – Sticking on a Prima clock (from the back of a packing) with the E-Z Dots Permanent refillable dispenser

12 – Finishing the layout with my title by using some alpha stickers and a alpha “S” from Donna Downey by adhering it with the E-Z Dots Permanent refillable dispenser.

Happy Day Card – Repositionable Adhesive Resist Technique

Hello there! It’s Angela today sharing a card featuring a custom background created with the E-Z Dots Repositionable Dispenser.

The background was inspired by Stephanie’s mixed media scrapbook page post, posted here: Mixed Media scrapbook page. Stephanie inspired me to get out my misting masks. When I was using the E-Z Dots Repositionable Dispenser to help keep the mask in place on the white card stock, the inspiration struck to fill in the design with the dots as an additional resist.

1. Hold the stencil in place by applying the E-Z Dots Repositionable adhesive to the back of the stencil and apply it to the smooth side of the white card stock:

2. Fill in the positive spaces on the stencil with more E-Z Dots Repositionable Adhesive:

3. Mist, let dry and then remove the stencil. Remove the repositionable adhesive with your fingertips:

I love the extra depth this technique gives to the design!

4. Swap a E-Z Runner Permanent Strips Refill into the E-Z Dots Repositionable Dispenser and adhere the background to a black card base:

5. Arrange two double wide strips of the Crafty Foam Tape-Black 13′ diagonally across the upper left and lower right of the card as shown below, remove the backing, place the sentiment tag and cover the remaining exposed foam tape with glittered black flock:

Mini Gift Card

Hello!  Christine here today with a mini gift card.  I’ve gone for a natural look and with the help of Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ products it was very quick to make.  Great to have a supply of these mini cards to hand at home.

I trimmed a piece of natural hessian (burlap) to mat onto a piece of cardstock using the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable.  This new shape dispenser fits snugly in your hand and enables you to direct the adhesive strips exactly where you need them.

Using a die template I cut a piece of chipboard and some pretty paper.

Using an Adhesive Sheet I was able to stick my die cut straight onto the chipboard.

My E-Z Runner® is in use again to adhere my chipboard.  I wrapped a little twine to add to the natural look.

I selected a metal embellishment that complemented the shape of the die cut.  3D Foam Squares are strong enough to hold weighty embellishments too.

Chalkboard Art Ensemble

Hi! Kimberly here and I am excited to share my CHA artwork with you today! The best part of creating these projects is knowing that all the adhesives I need to make everything come together were on my desktop! Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® truly has the best adhesives!

The start of this ensemble was the chalkboard. My grandpa used to always sing this song, so when I saw the digital cut file on the Silhouette online store, I knew it was perfect!

The apple bushel baskets were also digitally cut. I love creating 3D paper items and my Crafty Power Tape holds them together, well.

The Crafty Power Tape also holds lace and Fun Flock! I applied the Crafty Power Tape to the top of the bushel basket, removed the backing, and sprinkled generously with Fun Flock. I burnished it in and tapped off the excess. A fun, fall-ish addition!

These store bought apples needed a handmade touch, so I punched hearts from patterned paper, creased them in half, and adhered them with Dodz™ Small.

Here is a look at the card in the ensemble. This time I used a metal die template to cut out the tree. I cut it twice, once from brown card stock and once from patterned paper.

Piecing together intricate die cuts can be painful. E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable has been my solution. After having issues trying other types of adhesive, I thought about the dots and realized how easy they are to remove, if they somehow land where they don’t belong. And the best part is, that really doesn’t happen often. Its the perfect solution! Run the E-Z Dots® on your project and be happy!

The last little touch on the chalkboard was this cute set of burlap pennants. While I made them with die templates, I cannot wait to try out the new Designer Shapes that have pennants!! Stay tuned for those!

Happy Anniversary Card

Next week my husband and I celebrate our 24th anniversary, so I made a card for him.

I decided to design a more masculine card, you know….the kind he will want to show all his friends.  ha!

To create the metallic winged heart element, I used a 3D Foam Heart and two of the new 3D Foam Wing designer shapes.

Actually, I altered the size of the heart to suit my card design, and used embossing enamels to transform the foam into faux metallic pieces.

Hey there!  Today I get to share a super fun and cute card!  Cards- it’s what I do best.   So here is the card:

Now how I made it.

First I gathered my supplies.  Card, strips of cardstock and adhesive to begin with.

I adhered the larger piece of patterned paper with the E-Z Dots Permanent® Refillable.

I wanted more dimension to my card so I used the Thin 3D Foam Squares to raise the striped panel on the card.

I then tied twine around that piece and added a bow.  I adhered the bow by cutting a Small Dodz in half and adhering the twine bow to the card.

I then stamped my sentiment and adhered it to the card, again using my E-Z Dots Permanent® Refillable Runner.

Romantic Layout – Sweet Dreams

Hi there, it’s Stephanie here with a romantic layout.

It’s a layout about my daughter, just drifting in sweet dreams.

I made a mixed media Background with Glimmer Mist and a stencil and added some pieces of different papers. The tag  and the heart garland is also created with stencils and paint sprays.

To adhere the papers, the tag and the ribbon I used the
E-Z Dots Permanent Dispenser, to adhere the heart-banner I used the 3D Foam Squares.

I finished the layout with some embellishments and sticker.

Altered Photo Frame using Adhesive Sheets

Hello everyone! It’s Angela today, with my FIRST ever Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Crafty Power Blog post! YAY! Can you tell that I’m just a little EXCITED? For my first post, I created this altered photo frame using the Adhesive Sheets-4×6″.

Altered Photo Frame using Adhesive SheetsThe Adhesive Sheets were used in two ways. I first used the Basic Lattice die with a repeatable pattern to die cut the Adhesive Sheet directly. I applied the Adhesive Sheet to the painted frame and then applied a glittered embossing powder and heat embossed it. This created a subtle raised pattern with a touch of sparkle.

Altered Photo Frame using Adhesive SheetsAdditionally, I used the Adhesive Sheets to create the layered heart embellishment. This time, I adhered the Adhesive Sheets directly to the lavender card stock before die cutting the background die with the Lace Hearts die. The vellum top piece was then adhered to the background and the negative space was filled with lavender glitter. The glittered piece was adhered to the foil base using the E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable dispenser.

Altered Photo Frame using Adhesive SheetsThe 3D Foam Squares White Regular were stacked 3 high and adhered directly to the frame. The heart embellishment was then adhered to the 3D Foam Squares. This allowed the 3D Foam Squares placement to be exact and prevented the heart embellishment from being adhered to the tulle.

One last adhesive trick was to use a couple of squares from the E-Z Squares® Refill popped into my E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable dispenser around the wooden peg that acts as a frame stand. It kept falling out every time I picked up the frame, causing some frustration. Luckily it was easily resolved with the right adhesive selection!

Oval Easel Card Tutorial

Hi There!

Shell Carman here. I have had a few requests to show how I made my Oval Easel Card so I have put together a step by step!

1. Take a piece of 12X12 cardstock. I have used Kraft card. Cut in half to 6X12″. Put the spare half aside to use later.
2. Fold the 6X12″ piece in half to make a 6X6″ card base
3 & 4. Turn the card so that the fold is at the top. Place the Oval cutter (or just print a template from the computer & trace around it) so the top is just sitting over over the fold. You can use any size you like but I have used 3.5X4.5″.

5. Cut a complete oval from the other piece you had placed aside
6. Take the double oval piece. Make sure oval is fully folded out flat. Score the top oval half way. Fold forward.
7. Fold back oval & place E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser on bottom half.
8 & 9. Carefully line up the full oval piece with the folded oval. Ink edges with Dark Brown Ink

10 & 11.. Cut an oval slightly smaller than the base of your card (Kaisercraft Curiosity Peculiar). Distress & ink Edges. Adhere oval black side up using E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser
12,13,14. Cut another oval slightly smaller than the base of your card (Kaisercraft Curiosity Peculiar). Distress & Ink Edges. Open card base & place oval on bottom oval. Rule a line to cut off tip of oval. Cut off tip. Adhere oval cream side up using E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser to bottom oval
15. Cut another oval slightly smaller than the base of your card (Kaisercraft Curiosity Eccentric). Distress & Ink edges. Score this oval in half. Place tape on either sides of score mark. Stick to top oval making sure you line up score marks

16. Fussy cut bird & half of twig from Kaisercraft Curiosity Peculiar.
-Cut 1.5X5″ strip from Kaisercraft Curiosity Eccentric. Cut a V out the end to make a pendant. Distress & Ink edges.
-Cut the laughter box & the fruit branch from the Kaisercraft Curiosity Unusual paper. Distress & ink
– Cut 2 flowers & X 1 branch with flowers from Kaisercraft Curiosity Queer paper. Distress & Ink
17. Adhere Eccentric strip to front of card using E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser
18. Adhere X2 flowers to front of card using E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser placing one top right & one bottom right

19 & 20. Using 3D Foam Squares White Regular Size adhere fruit branch to front of card middle right.
21.Adhere the flower with branch overlapping fruit branch using E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser
22 & 23.Using 3D Foam Squares White Regular Size adhere laughter box just left of centre. Place foam squares on top, bottom & left side only. Place E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser

24 & 25. Using 3D Foam Squares White Mix White adhere bird to top of laughter box
26 & 27. Adhere mix of flowers using Dodz™ Medium on top of flower branch
28. Make a bow from coral ribbon. Adhere at bottom of laughter box using Dodz™ Medium

29. Using Kaisercraft Curiosity Extraordinary cut tip of oval using oval cutter or template. Distress & Ink
30 & 31. Using 3D Foam Squares White Mix White adhere tip of oval to bottom of bottom oval
32 & 33. Using Crafty Power Tape adhere a strip of lace along piece cut from 30/31

Butterfly Heart Card

Hello!  It is Christine here today and I’m sharing a summery Butterfly Heart card.

I started by distressing and inking a piece of Pink Paislee – Cottage Farms paper.  My card is easily assembled using E-Z Runner® Permanent Refilliable.

For my card embellishments I have all the correct adhesives to hand – to attach lace Crafty Power Tape works wonders!

3D Foam Squares are ideal for adding stickers and more.

When attaching a die cut with delicate details then grab your Adhesive Sheets. I’ve used the very lovely Vines of Passion from Spellbinders®.

These sheets effectively make your die cut into a sticker!  Just lay your die cut inside, smooth the yellow layer over and apply a little pressure, the stickiness then sticks to your die cut!  Remove and position on your card.

The finished card with a few little items added – button and flowers.
