Penny Black Blog Hop Day 5: We Three Kings

Hello! Welcome to Day 5 of the Penny Black blog hop!
Latisha here and I created a holiday card using the 40-437 We Three Kings stamp from Penny Black, along with some of my favorite Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L products.

As you can see, I spent a great deal coloring in this image with copic markers, however if you do not like to color, this would be just as beautiful paper pieced. To make my card have more dimension, I added Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares (white, regular) in between layers. Adding Creative Photo Corners (white & kraft) on each corner, helped to frame the card. Keeping your eyes on the center of the card as the focal point.

Instructions:

1. Cut/score kraft cardstock.

2. Diecut pattern paper, add Photo Corners Kraft on each corner.

3. Apply 3D Foam Squares to the diecut panel, and adhere to the card front.

4. Stamp image in black ink, onto white cardstock.

5. Diecut the image.

6. Color in image with Copic Markers.

7. Distress the edges of the diecut

8. Add Creative Photo Corners White to each corner.

9. Apply Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares to the back of the die cut & adhere to the card.

Penny Black Blog Hop – Peace on Earth Card

Hello! Welcome to Day 4 of the Penny Black Blog Hop! It’s Erica and today I’m sharing a card I created using the Penny Black Joy Filled stamp set, E-Z Runner® Refillable Dispenser, Crafty Foam Tape, and Crafty Power Tape, as well as a step-by-step tutorial showing you how I created my card!

I started by adhering two sheets of pattern paper from the Twelve Days of Christmas Collection by Graphic 45 to the base of my card using the E-Z Squares® Refillable Dispenser.

I then cut a doily in half and adhered it to my card with Crafty Power Tape. Using the Joy Filled stamp set by Penny Black I stamped my Peace on Earth sentiment and then adhered it with Crafty Foam Tape for extra dimension.

Penny Black Blog Hop Day 3 – Christmas in Purple and Silver

Happy hump day my crafty friends! It’s Michele here with a card for our week long blog hop with Penny Black!

I love, love, love this Christmas stamp from Penny Black! It is called Deco Tree and I love how whimsical the image is! I stamped the image with Versamark and embossed it in silver. I wanted to add a bit of sparkle to the tree so I added Stickles to various parts of it. I also stamped the sentiment in Versamark and embossed it in purple. I added a few rhinestones and a snowflake sequin. I layered the image over silver sequin paper using Scrapbook Adhesives Crafty foam tape.

I tied silk ribbon around the image vertically and then tied my coordinating jingle bells around the center. I didn’t want everything jiggling around, so I used Dodz™ small to hold my bells and ribbon tails in place. I then layered the image on the card front with my Crafty Foam Tape. ( I like my cards to be lumpy and bumpy!) 😉

Penny Black Blog Hop Day 2 – Watercolor Beauty

Hi everyone! It’s Lisa here with you on this fabulously crafty Tuesday. And we are thrilled to be Blog Hopping with Penny Black all week long and getting in the Holiday spirit early. Yay!

Here is the card that I created for the hop. I always love creating with Penny Black. My creativity tends to go a little bit crazy. 😉

I used the Sprightly (40-337) background stamp in a slightly different way. I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder and then used just parts of the stamp to create kind of a swirly look on opposing corners. I then used 3 colors of Distress Inks (Seedless Preserves, Pumice Stone and Evergreen Bough) to “watercolor” the background. The berries were colored with an Art GRIP™ Aquarelle Watercolor Pencil from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®.

You can see some of the overlap of the colors a little bit better in this photo. It’s a very loose style of watercoloring.

I used the same gold embossing powder on a piece of cardstock weight vellum to stamp the sentiment from the set called Beauty of the Season (30-254) which I wrapped around the watercolored piece. I secured it in place with my E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Adhesive.

Then I added LOTS of 3D Foam Squares (in white) to give the card front dimension. Before attaching to the card base, I wrapped a piece of Ivory seam binding ribbon around it and secured with a few DODZ™ – Small (I like to roll them up).

Now all I had to do was add it to the card base, which I kept neutral. I love how it turned out. I hope you all like it, too! 🙂

Penny Black Blog Hop Day 1 – Christmas Card

Welcome to Day 1 of our Blog Hop with Penny Black Stamps!

I want to show you my first christmas card I made this year using a beautiful stamp of Poinsettia from Festive Florals and a script stamp “Merry Christmas” from Joy Filled set from Penny Black and E-Z Dots® Permanent – Refillable and Crafty Foam Tape from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L^®.

Here we go, I have a tutorial for you.

1 – I love to create my own backgrounds for cards and layouts. If you also love to create with paint, cut a piece of watercolor paper in 11,7×17,2 cm and use some blue and beige acrylic paint with a sponge to give the background of the card a little bit texture. Splash a little bit with red paint.

2 – Stamp the motife of the Poinsettia twice with a Big Brush Pen.

3 – Cut out a hole motife and only one flower and some leaves and give the middle point some Stickles glitter.

4 – Use red Neocolor II (or other watercolor paint) to give the flower red color. I only colored one flower.

5 – Make three lines with Washi Tape at the upper right corner in matching colors.

6 – Stamp your text or wish on a white piece of paper and cut it out.

7 – Use Crafty Foam Tape to adhere the text over the washi tape. It gives a nicely 3D effect.

8 – Distress the edges of the text stripe.

9 – Cut out a piece of chipboard twice as large as the card and gives 1mm more on each side. Then use your cutting pad to make a cut at the middle. The chipboard is thick enough not to cut. It will be like a book cover.

10 – Now use washi tape to enclose the folded edge.

11 – Adhere all together with E-Z Dots® Permanent – Refillable.

12 – Punch holes through the chipboards and use a ribbon to close the card. Distress the edges with blue color.

Layered Masking Technique Tutorial

Hello blog readers! It’s Angela hosting today and I’m sharing a layered masking technique featuring the highly versatile Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Adhesive Sheets – 4×6“. Here’s the finished project. The photo tutorial follows. Enjoy!

Layered Mask Angela Ploegman Tutorial

1. Gather a small canvas, your Adhesive Sheets and a die. Open dies with lots of negative space work best.

2. Cut the Adhesive Sheet with the die. Peel away the yellow backing in one piece (Do NOT Discard) and adhere the Adhesive Sheet to the canvas.

3. Place the die cut yellow backing piece from Step 2 over the die cut Adhesive Sheet on the canvas. Tape into place.

4. Fill the open spaces with a wet media of your choice. I used a gold embossing paste.

5. Remove the yellow backing mask and then the white sheet on the die cut adhesive. Do this when the piece is still wet.

6. Let dry. Don’t worry about the exposed adhesive, it will remain sticky. I left my project out overnight without any problems.

7. After the wet media has completely dried, cover the exposed adhesive with a dry media of your choice. I used silver leafing, but glitter or embossing powder would work equally well.

8. Embellish the canvas according to your preference. I painted a maple leaf with bright pink paint and adhered to the canvas with 3D Foam Squares – Black, Small. Here’s a close up view of the final project.

Drips, Google Eyes, and Glitter! Oh my!

Hello Blogosphere! It’s Tiffany here with a SUPER fun mixed-media card for ya!

I absolutely love the versatility and strength of the Adhesive Sheets, which is how I created my google eye glitter panel!

For this tutorial, I’ll be using the Adhesive Sheets – 4″ x 6″, 3D Foam Squares Black – Mix, and the E-Z Dots® Permanent – Refillable.

To create those cool mixed-media drips, just combine about 1/8″ of Licorice Gelatos, about a tablespoon of Glaze, and a drop or two of water until it’s got maple syrup-like consistency.

Then, using a dropper tool or a round paint brush, apply the drips starting at one corner of an A2 card front. I like to hold the paper vertically to allow the drips to naturally fall. Set aside to dry.

While the drips are drying, take an A2 card base and apply the Adhesive Sheet to the bottom 1/3 at a diagonal. I like to burnish both sides to ensure full coverage. Add the Google Eyes first.

TiffDripStep4 Once you’ve added the Google Eyes, cover the rest with glitter. Tap excess. If you have an embossing buddy, use that to wipe the glitter off of the google eyes!

Repeat the process with “BOO” die-cut letters. I used the Sizzix Block Talk Uppercase Die by Tim Holtz to create my letters.

Add glitter and tap excess.

Once the drips are dry, adhere everything to the A2 card base. I added an orange border at the diagonal and some patterned paper at the top.

Cut some small black 3D foam squares in half and apply to the “BOO” letters. Add to card.

Now, you can add some twine and some not-so-spooky ghosts! Voila! Instant spooky cuteness 😉

Autumnal Gift Tag

Hi everyone, it is Christine here today with an autumnal gift tag, the weather here in the UK is surprisingly warm right now but I think Autumn is on the horizon.

I selected a kraft card tag and applied some wood effect paper using MyStik® Permanent Strips, so speedy and ensures a perfect stick.

I wanted to use a piece of die cut lattice and the best way to adhere fiddly items is by using an Adhesive Sheet, the 6″ x 4″ size are brilliant for smaller items.

I am attempting to use up by big stash of buttons (slowly!) so adding one to my tag project. Dodz™ Small keeps it securely in place.

With the addition of some die cuts and some twine you have a finished tag.

Happy Halloween with 3D Foam Candy Corns

Halloween is around the corner, bring on the candy! In every store I am inundated with bags and bags of my weakness, candy corn. I decided to make some myself, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® style, of course!

Starting with the triangle shaped 3D Foam Pennants, I cut the paper liner on top of the foam with a craft knife and a ruler, so the pennant was divided into 3 parts. Be careful not to cut through the foam all the way.
Carefully peel off the points of each triangle and add white glitter, then the middles and add gold/yellow glitter, then the wide ends and add orange glitter to match the candy corn colors.
Next I used the banner shapes, and simply added letter stickers to spell HAPPY. Top with gold glitter, and now the banner is done!

I trimmed a sticker with the word Halloween, and added 3D Foam Squares to the back side, to give it some lift.

Arrange the pieces and it’s done!

Hello Card Tutorial

Hello! AJ here sharing a hello card for your stash to have on hand!

I needed a general theme card to send off and decided to use my new Spellbinders dies along with some fab supplies from Fancy Pants Designs.

First, to adhere your patterned paper layer down using E-Z Squares® Refillable. Leave opposing corners open, and don’t place down just yet…

And add a white Creative Photo Corners in the upper right, and lower left corners, secure to card front.

To adhere the circle die cut, use a few 3D Foam Squares in Black.

I wanted to add a little something to the tag, so I added a few chevrons pieces using my E-Z Runner® Permanent Refillable.
To adhere those SUPER SKINNY sentiment die cuts…Use your Adhesive Sheets. Pull back the yellow line, place your card stock down on to the sticky side, and lay your die down onto the card stock. Run through your machine as usual.

It should look like this- remove the die cut from the die template. remove the backing, and adhere onto the tag.

To adhere the tag to the card, lay your tag onto the circle and place your 3D Foam Squares– I like to see where they will go so they aren’t hanging off of the circle die!
