It’s Angela hosting today and I am sharing a tutorial for how to incorporate Art Paper into your crafting projects using the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Adhesive Sheets. I used the technique to create this Thank You card:

Incorporating Art Paper into Projects with Adhesive Sheets - Thank You Card by Angela Ploegman There is a small art supply store near my house and they have a frequently changing inventory of archival quality art papers….all of which are so very pretty. It got me thinking as to how I could incorporate these materials into my cards and scrapbook layouts. Since some of the papers, like the one shown in the project above are translucent, the right adhesive was key! Turns out, the right adhesive was the Adhesive Sheets – 4×6″. Let’s get started!

Step by Step Instructions

1. Gather your supplies. Cut a card base from white card stock (5.5 x 8.5 inches folded to 5.5 x 4.25 inches).

angela ploegman thank you card_2 2. Apply an Adhesive Sheet – 4×6″ to white card stock by removing the yellow backing layer and applying the exposed adhesive to the card stock. Burnish the white backing to ensure complete transfer.

Incorporating Art Paper into Projects with Adhesive Sheets - Thank You Card by Angela Ploegman 3. Peel the white backing from the adhesive layer and cover the exposed adhesive with the art paper. Burnish lightly to smooth out any wrinkles.

Incorporating Art Paper into Projects with Adhesive Sheets - Thank You Card by Angela Ploegman 4. Trim to 4.00 x 5.25 inches and round the corners. Adhere to the card base with MyStik® Permanent Strips.

Incorporating Art Paper into Projects with Adhesive Sheets - Thank You Card by Angela Ploegman 5. Stamp the Quietfire Thank You, Rough Hewn sentiment onto white card stock with an ink in a matching color.

Incorporating Art Paper into Projects with Adhesive Sheets - Thank You Card by Angela Ploegman 6. Trim, leaving a thin white border and adhere 3D Foam Squares – White, Regular to the backside of the trimmed sentiment.

angela ploegman thank you card_7 7. Adhere to the card base and embellish with silver sequins. I used the DODZ™ – Small to adhere the sequins.

Welcome to Day 4 of our Blog Hop with Quietfire Designs!

Hello, AJ here to share with you today a card using Quietfire Stamps.

My card today uses the Ten Tiny Tag Sentiments set. I love the great little sentiments and the size makes them perfect for cute little cards also!

Start by adhering your patterned paper to the card base using E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable.

Because Quietfires stamps come unmounted, I used E-Z Dots® Repositionable Refillable to adhere the stamp to my block. No foam needed! 😉

After stamping my sentiment, I wrapped string around my card stock layer and adhered it with Crafty Foam Tape.

Next, to assemble the flower, I adhere the first two layers together with Dodz™ Small

Then adhere the the remaining layer with a 3D Foam Square, and another to adhere to my card.

Quietfire Designs Blog Hop: Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of our blog hop with Quietfire Design!

It’s Kelly here, and I’m excited to share a card I created using some beautiful Quietfire Design stamps and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® products. I would say the combination turned out beautifully!

I am in LOVE with these gorgeous deeply etched rubber stamps by Quietfire Design!

I used these 2 stamps sets: “Floral Thank You” (set of 4) and “Butterflies/Dragonflies” (set of 7).

Whenever I make an easel card, I like to design lots of 3D elements, and so my essential adhesives are the 3D Foam Squares and Crafty Foam Tape.

I also stamped one of the smaller Quietfire butterflies onto a 3D Foam Butterfly…. and it looks so pretty!

The pearls are adhered with Dodz™ Medium.

I used the Dodz™ for both the single larger pearls and the smaller pearls in a cluster.

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Quietfire Blog Hop

Welcome to Day 2 of our Blog Hop with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and Quietfire Design!

Kimberly here to show you how to showcase the beautiful handwritten sentiments from Quietfire Design using the fabulous 3D Designer Shapes!

Hello gorgeous sentiment, right? Suzanne Cannon writes all the sentiments with her own hand! To attach the non-backed stamp to my acrylic block, I simply used E-Z® Dots Repositionable Refillable. A couple of passes of the runner on the back of the rubber works wonderfully. Once you are finished stamping, simply use a damp cloth of some type to remove the small dots of adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment onto a white cardstock panel in watermark ink, then heat embossed it with white powder. Blue watercolor paints were applied over the top until I achieved the look I wanted. Don’t forget to wipe away any excess watercolor that may pool on the embossed surfaces of the words. It will make the sentiment pop even more.

To highlight the words, I grabbed my set of 3D Foam Frames. I removed it from the backing and placed it at an angle over the wording.

The backing was removed and gold glitter was poured generously over the top. Gently burnish (or rub in) the glitter and remove the excess. Yes, glitter gets everywhere, but a gentle breath or two and a pass over with a paintbrush will remove the unwanted specks.

The sentiment needed real stars too. The smaller stars in 3D Foam Stars were just the right fit. They too were glittered.

Layout Spring is here

Boys Birthday Card

Hello, Happy Saturday!

AJ here to share with you a fun boys birthday card!

Most boys aren’t too in to all that “stuff” on their card, but who says they don’t like a little bit of flair?

You start by adhering your patterned paper to the card base with E-Z Runner® Permanent Adhesive Refillable.

Next, run a small strip along your smaller banner, and adhere to the larger banner. Tie a small string around into a simple knot.

Again, using E-Z Runner® Permanent Adhesive Refillable, adhere your banner to the card.

Pull a party hat from the 3D Foam Party Shapes and adhere to your die cut. Remove the backing and cover with glitter.

Next, adhere the die cut to the card using a 3D Foam Square.

Easy peasy, and tailor made to the kid!

You’ve Got Mail!

Hello everyone! Asia King here. Do you ever feel like random mail/bills/receipts etc seem to take over your living space? Well, I do – and far too often for my liking! :). So today I would like to share a mail/post holder I made to keep our newly redecorated living room in order.

My inspiration came from many projects I’ve seen on the web using old books. I just love the simple shabby chic look of the folded book pages – so I had to give it a try. As the pages support one another, they are perfect as little storage pockets.

First I wrapped the inside covers with the same wall paper that the room has been decorated with. I used 6×12″ Adhesive Sheets which made it nice and easy. I added some tissue tape and some stamping with Hampton Art Word Collage Border stamps. I used StazOn Midi Cloudy Sky ink.

Once I folded all the pages in half, 3-4 at a time, I made several little tabs with Ivory and Silver Creative Photo Corners. I also added a few Keepsake Envelopes for smaller receipts, tickets etc. I tided a piece of ribbon on each flap to make them easier to find.

For my word ‘MAIL’ I used wooden letters, quickly swiped with Mustard Seed Distress Stain. I adhered the letters and a handful of buttons with Adhesive Sheets.

To finish I added a large silver flower and some ribbon, fixed in place with Crafty Foam Tape and DODZ™ – 3D.

Now my incoming post can be organised and beautiful :).

A Lucky Shamrock Card

Hello Everyone! It’s Kelly here, and although I’m not Irish, I do enjoy the festivities of St. Paddy’s Day! Here is a fun card I designed for this VERY green occasion:

Here are the supplies I used for this card, which include 3D Foam Hearts for the Shamrock and NEW 3D Foam Butterflies and Garden Shapes.

After adhering the layers of my card base together with my E-Z Squares™, I used four 3D Foam Hearts and green glitter to create the shamrock.

For the stem of the shamrock, I simply cut a piece of 3D Foam from the side of the Hearts sheet.

Add green glitter …. and ta daaaa! A lucky 4-leaf clover appears!

I added a couple of 3D Foam Butterflies and covered them with a lighter shade of green glitter.

To attach my “Good Luck” banner, I used Crafty Foam Tape.

As you can see by the roll above, I go through a LOT of Crafty Foam Tape! Love this stuff!!

Decorating Party Straws

Hello there, Latisha with you today!

It seems like once warm weather comes, it means the arrival of parties and get togethers. The great thing about being a Paper Crafter, is that you have all of the tools (well most of them), to create little touches to make your next get together that much more special. Whether its making name tags, food tags, or like today decorative straws. These touches make your guest feel special, and you get the satisfaction of making something really really cute!

If you walk into any craft store, or even Target, you will find these thick biodegradable straws in many great colors. They are seriously too cute!

1. Cut strips of white card stock.

2. Adhere E-Z Dots® Refillable Adhesive onto one side of the strip, wrap around the straw.

3. To create a banner, using scissors cut a “v” at the end of the strip.

4. Using Lawn Fawn Star Die, diecut stars using blue dotted Bazzill card stock.

5. Peel off a Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Star, dip onside into red glitter, then adhere to the front of the star.

6. Place Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares on the back of the star die cut, and adhere to the banner.

7. Tie, Timeless Twine onto the straws.

Materials Used:

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Dots Refillable Adhesive, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Stars, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares (regular), Lawn Fawn Dies, Timeless Twine, Bazzill cardstock, white cardstock, red glitter, decorate straws.
