Happy Fall Flip Book

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing a quick and easy fall flip book album that I used to document my trip to a fruit farm. It doesn’t officially feel like fall for me until I spend a day outside collecting apples and pumpkins.

I repurposed a store-bought flip book, converting the album from summer to fall, by swapping out some of the patterned paper pages and by embellishing the front cover with some fall imagery using the Stampendous Truck Loading Die Cutting Set.

The flip book measures approximately 7.25 x 4.25 inches, and contains four 4 x 6 inch photo inserts and four printed pages that are perfect for journaling and memorabilia. To alter this flip book for my day trip, I first applied plaid patterned paper to the inside covers and the front cover binding using 1/4 inch Extreme Double-Sided Tape. Next, I cut fall patterned papers to size and alternated those pages with the 4 x 6 photo sleeves. Finally, I punched holes in each page and strung a piece of string through the holes to hold the album together.

Embellishing the Flip Book

I saved the apple bag from my trip and used pieces of it in my flip book. The E-Z Runner Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser was perfect for sticking a piece of stamped paper to a plastic photo sleeve.

I added fall imagery and quotes to many of the book pages to reinforce the themes of my photos.

I used the Stampendous Truck Load Cutting Die Set to create the fall scene for the flip book cover. After cutting and applying chalk ink to the die-cut pieces of patterned paper, I used the E-Z Runner Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser to adhere theme to the album cover.

Foiled Dots and Buttons Holiday Card

Hello, Sheri here again and I have a very quick & easy card that uses foiled dots and buttons accents to create a custom holiday card. Let me show you how!

It only takes a few ingredients to create this one-of-a-kind card with lots of shine. I created my own background to match my focal image using adhesives and Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets in Variety Colors.

Foiled Dots & Buttons Tree

On a card panel, place various sized buttons to form a tree. Fill in the gaps of the tree with 3D Foam Circles in small size until I got my desired shape. Next, I picked up each button and attached small Adhesive Dots to the back and put back in place.

Foiled Stripes

To create my background, I simply added stripes with Extreme Double-Sided Tape ¼ inch to the front of my card base. One by one lay each color foil on the tape (color side up) and pressed to transfer each color.

Once my background was complete, I used the same process with the foam circles on my tree. Designer’s Tip: press with the end of an eraser head to make sure the circle was completely covered.

A simple stamped sentiment and black matting completed my focal image. I attached the panel to my custom background with the MyStik® Permanent Strips Dispenser.

Bountiful Blessings Fall Card

Hello friends! Judy here with a wonderful Pumpkin Truck card. When I was looking for fall ideas for this card, I found this pumpkin truck stamp in my stash. I’m a lover of old farm trucks and pumpkins! So this was perfect for me to make this fall card!

Working the Pumpkin Truck

To make this card, stamp pumpkin truck two times with Versafine Onyx Black ink on white cardstock. I used Misti for stamping so I could re-stamp each image as needed for a good impression.

Color one pumpkin truck image with markers. On the other image, color the front and back fenders only.

Cut out the colored truck. Cut out each separate fender.

Apply Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix to the back of each fender. Squares can be cut in half and trimmed to fit. Fasten each fender in place on the truck.

Use a small ball stylus on a piece of foam to trace around the edge of the truck near pumpkins. Use stylus lines as a reference to know where pumpkins are for shaping them.

On the backside, use a large ball stylus to rub over the center of each pumpkin in a circular motion. This will make the paper slightly rounded on the front so pumpkins are slightly dimensional.

To define them even more, place truck face up on foam. Trace around each pumpkin with a small stylus.

Place Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix on the back of the pumpkin truck but not on the pumpkin area.

Place 3D Foam Squares Black Mix on the back of pumpkins. This will raise pumpkins slightly more than truck to keep them dimensional.

Background Building

Stamp tree background on 4.125 x 6.375 inch Kraft cardstock using Morning Mist ink. Stamp off the edge of the paper on the left edge. The image will not go clear across the paper. Ink and stamp again on edge with the fence.

Place scrap paper as a mask over the previously stamped background. Stamp on the right edge to continue the background across the paper on the right side.

Notice the two fences in the photo at the center and right side are the same. Use eye shadow applicator or cotton swab with Morning Mist ink to continue horizon if needed and to fill in the lower area below stamped images.

Card Layers

Form 4.75 x 7 inch top fold card from Kraft cardstock. Designer’s Tip: this will easily fit in a 5 x 7-inch envelope.

Cut 4.5 x 6.75-inch mat from black cardstock. Use the E-Z Runner Grand Permanent Dots Dispenser to secure the layered card panel to the card front.

Assemble the Truck

Use the E-Z Runner Grand Permanent Dots Dispenser to apply adhesive to the back of wheels on the truck. This will hold wheels flat on the card so it doesn’t appear to be floating. Adhere the pumpkin truck on the card.

Stamp Mini Strips Harvest on black card stock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Heat emboss with white embossing powder. Die-cut into strips with matching die.

Apply small squares from Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix to the back of strips.

Attach the greeting strips to the card. I use a quilting ruler to line them up straight. It works really well!

Use a gray marker to add shading near the wheels and under the pumpkin truck.

You can see some of the dimension of the fenders in this photo. Although pumpkins feel dimensional, it was difficult to photograph them to show that.

Holly Jolly Shaker Card

Let’s Make a Holly Jolly Shaker

I started my holiday shaker card by stamping my images using Staz On Ink, adding colour using Zig Clean Color Markers and a water brush. Then I die cut out my shaker pieces.

Using the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser, I adhere the ring die cut to the acetate.

Next, I used 3D Foam Strips to live the inside edge of the Holiday Shaker Card top. I snuck in a couple of 3D Foam Squares White Small Size, to complete circle.

Holly Jolly Layers

Create a simple layered card background using patterned paper, and a white cardstock base. I added the red patterned paper layer using Creative Photo Corners White. I adhered the other layers of the Holiday Shaker Card using E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser.

Add the shaker filler, in this case, I used beads. Attach the stamped background to the shaker top.

Finishing Off

I used the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser again to add the shaker piece to the Holiday Shaker Card. Then using Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix I added the stamped sentiment tag and the fussy cut gnomes.

Add some Stickles to the stamped images for a little extra sparkle.

Grateful Farmhouse Sign

Recently, my ten year old son came to me and said he wanted to find a way to earn some money. We had some leftover scrap wood from building a fence, so I decided to start working with him on learning how to do some woodworking projects. The more time we’ve spent together sanding and staining, the more ideas I get rolling through my head. Today’s project is the end result of one of those ideas! Christine joining you today, with a DIY farmhouse sign showcasing our Creative Photo Corners.

As you can see, I used A LOT of Creative Photo Corners. I had previously done this same technique on a layout, which you can see here. For months I have been wanting to try it on a home decor project. As we sanded and stained wood, I knew this would look gorgeous on these scrap wood pieces. Bigger bonus, my son got to contribute to the project, so he gets to feel some pride as he sees it too!

Creative Photo Corner Background

Creating this background was more simple and forgiving than you might expect.

I started by tracing a circle onto 12 x 12 paper using a dessert sized plate. I opted to put it onto paper first rather than try to go straight onto the wood. That way, if I made any mistakes I didn’t have to start all over with the wood.

I used the circle as my outline for the first border of Creative Photo Corners. If you have to overlap a little, don’t worry about it! This has so many layers that it is incredibly forgiving and none of it shows up!

I did two layers on each row – adding the second layer in between the peeks. This made it easier to add each consecutive row. To begin each consecutive row, I just moved in about 1/8 of an inch and started the next circle. Beyond my first circle traced, I just eyeballed things. As I mentioned earlier, even if it looks like things are getting off, it’s very forgiving!

In the end, this took me about 90 minutes to do, and I watched a movie with a friend while I did it! It took just over 1000 Creative Photo Corners.

Look at all those beautiful layers!

Additional Adhesives

Wasn’t sure how this was going to work putting together the rest of it but I was thrilled to discover that the E-Z Runner Grand Ultra Strong Refill solved that problem!

To secure the circle onto the wood, cover the back of the circle with the runner – giving a very thorough coverage. It stuck right onto the wood with no problem.

I even added the metal word “grateful” on top using the E-Z Runner Grand Ultra Strong Refill! With the smooth surface, I wasn’t sure but the adhesive worked well!

Easy Shaker Birthday Cards

Hi, everyone! Like making shaker cards? Teri here, and I’m going to show you a way that is easier than ever for making them!

Easy Shaker Birthday Cards by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

All you need are a couple Keepsake Envelopes and a few basic card making supplies!

Create a Shaker Birthday Card

Start with a rectangle of cardstock that is large enough to fit on a card base. Cover the rectangle with patterned paper. You can use just one paper or many. It’s entirely up to you.

Use a die to cut a shape out of the decorated rectangle panel. (Don’t have a die? Use a paper trimmer to cut a square or rectangle instead!)

Take a Keepsake Envelope and add sequins to it! Be sure to pick an envelope that is bigger than your cut shape. If you are using an envelope significantly larger than your cut shape, add a few lines of Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/4″ to the inside of the pocket to keep the sequins from moving all over it.

Place the envelope on the back of the rectangle behind the opening. Secure it in place with Premium Double-Sided Tape 1″. Add some additional strips of Crafty Foam Tape to the panel and adhere the panel to a pre-folded card.

Complete your card by adding a sentiment to it, as well as some embellishments. Stickers and sequins are a fun way to spruce up your design! Gems are another fun option!

Change Up Your Design

Don’t limit yourself to using just stars to cut your shaker window opens! Try using more generic shapes, like circles.

You can kick things up a notch more by decorating the shaker itself by adding a sticker or rub-on to it!

Dragon Party Day Glittered Card

Hi everyone, Yvonne here with a new project using lots of glitter for a Dragon Party Day Card. The design and sparkle make this card perfect for a child’s birthday theme! But to be honest, I would love to receive a card like this too!

Adding subtle glitter accents to the clouds is super simple using a combination of the Dual Tip Glue Pen and 3D Foam Circles White Mix. Great for some extra bubbly glitter accents!

Dragon Party Card Card Step Outs

First, stamp the hot air balloon onto white cardstock using a black ink pad. Then color the balloon with colored pencils and die-cut the balloon.

Making a Cloudy Sky

First, trim a piece of white cardstock for the top layer panel for your card.

Using a cloud template or make one yourself by simply cut a cloud line from white cardstock using scissors.

To make the clouds, place the template horizontal onto the white card panel and dab soft grey ink onto the cloudy edge with an ink blending tool.

Work your way down the panel and repeat the ink dabbing to create the cloudy sky until you get your desired look.

The Card Base

Mat the cloudy top card panel onto a green patterned card panel to give it a subtle outline. Next, adhere the layered panel onto a white folded card base. To adhere everything, I used the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser.

Elements to the Card

After finishing the cloudy sky, adhere the dragon and cloud sticker to the card. Let’s lift and adhere the hot air balloon die cut using Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix. The thickness is just enough to give it a subtle uplifting effect.

Add the sentiment by adhering next to the balloon on the card panel with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix.

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside

Now it’s time to add the glitter effect. Using your adhesive to shine is a technique called Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside. I used this technique in two different ways: to add glitter effects to the clouds with glue and by adding glitter bubbles to the card.

To glitter the clouds, start by putting a drop of Glue from the Dual Tip Glue Pen onto your finger and spread the glue a little over your finger top.

Simply dab your “glue finger” (while the glue is still wet) onto the clouds on the card panel.

Then sprinkle white glitter over the card panel. Tap off any excess glitter.

Next I adhered some 3D Foam Circles White Mix onto the card panel. Remove the liner to sprinkle green, blue and white glitter on top. Then tap off the excess glitter.

You made a shiny background! And…your Dragon Party Day Glittered card is ready to make someone very happy!

A Confetti Kind of Birthday!

Working with Confetti Birthday Cards

All you need is 3D Foam Stars, 3D Foam Squares, and your E-Z Runner Grand to help create some fun cards. What perfect timing as today is World Card Making Day!

Personalized Birthday Cards

On several of the cards, I added 3D Foam Shapes such as 3D Foam Stars and 3D Foam Hearts. The shapes were foiled with Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Variety Colors.
The cards were adhered using the E-Z Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser.
With 3D Foam Squares Black Regular Size, I lifted and adhered the embellishments to the cards.
The Dual Tip Glue Pen came in handy for securing the sentiment strips.

How to Use 3D Foam Shapes Video

In Step 1, I added foil to my 3D Foam Shapes. But there are many ways to embellish these shapes. Here is a quick video on how.

This technique is Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside. You can also customize your shapes by die-cutting with our 3D Foam Creative Sheets too!

Sugar Skull Candle Décor

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing a fun décor project for Halloween. A large part of my interior ambiance comes from the flickering light of candles. I thought it would be fun to spook my guests with an embellished glass pillar candle featuring one of my favorite designs: a sugar skull.

I’ve had a sugar skull iron-on t-shirt transfer in my stash for some time and this project was the perfect excuse to finally use it. There is something about the cooler Fall months that always has me reaching into my fabric stash. I used a square of muslin and an adhesive sheet to transform this transfer into a sticker embellishment. This was the perfect way to wrap a glass pillar candle!

T-Shirt Transfer Sticker Embellishment

To begin, position the sugar skull t-shirt transfer onto a piece of muslin and cover with a thin cloth. Next, empty the water from a household iron and heat on the wool setting. Press the iron over the transfer for about one minute, using a circular motion to evenly spread the heat. Once the design in transferred to fabric, set aside to cool.

To create a sticker embellishment from the fabric transfer, lift the yellow release liner from a 12×12 inch Adhesive Sheet and place the fabric onto the adhesive. Re-apply the yellow sheet and rub to transfer the adhesive to the back of the fabric. Next, use scissors to cut around the piece of sugar skull fabric.

Remove the release liner from the sugar skull fabric and place the sticker embellishment onto a glass pillar candle. Press the design firmly starting from the center and working out towards the edges to secure to the glass.

Sugar Skull Candle Embellishments

Add a finished edge to the sugar skull sticker by using a Dual Tip Glue Pen to secure a length of twine around the embellishment.

Use Small Adhesive Dots to apply colorful rhinestones around the edge of the sugar skull sticker.

Prepping the Card Panel

My first step in creating my Cup of Friendship card was to cut, tear and distress my white cardstock card front.

Using Distress Oxide Ink, I blended the area where my coffee cup image was going to live. Then splattered some more ink that I had watered down.

I stamped my card images onto white cardstock using black StazOn ink and then added colour using Chameleon Pens.

Create a Unique Background

Using Mounting Squares 500 Clear Half-Size, I created a brick-like background in the area the coffee cup will be.

Using the gold foil from the 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit with Foil, I added that perfect gold accent to the Mounting Squares 500 Clear Half-Size. Isn’t stunning? Just rub the color side up over the squares with your fingertips and peel off. No tool or heat required – easy!

Card Panel Layers

Mat the distressed card front in kraft cardstock that has been stamped with the Cup of Friendship sentiment. Place the layered panel to the white cardstock card base inked on the edges using the E-Z Runner® Ultra Refillable Dispenser.

Embellishing Touches

Now for the fun part! Add the coffee cup to this Cup of Friendship card using 3D Foam Squares White Regular Size.

Attach the butterfly wings to the coffee card using Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix. I love mixing the different thicknesses of 3D Foam Squares to get so much more dimension to my friendship card.

Finally, add Stickles to the heart and wings of the stamped images.
