Glitter Card Using 3D Foam Circles

Welcome back my crafty friends! Today I have a super cute sparkly card to share created with some of my go-to favourite adhesives. Let’s Wear Our Adhesive on the Outside!

I would describe my card making style as bold, less is more kind of crafting. I like my cards to have a defined focus and this card is a good example of that. Here are all of the details:

Start the creation by gathering your main supplies and cutting the basic cardstock layers. I used circle dies to cut the circle and scalloped circle.

Who doesn’t love sparkle??
I started by adding a little sparkle to the Black Creative Photo Corners. Using my Dual Tip Glue Pen I added adhesive to the middle embossed portion of each Creative Photo Corner.

Add black glitter and VOILA! Super cute sparkle.

The next step is to create the symmetrical design on the white cardstock layer. Use that black circle as a guide for now, but don’t adhere it down yet. I started with the large 3D Foam Circles, then came back and added the smaller 3D Foam Circles.

Once again, add the glitter and SPARKLE!

Once glittered I was able to add my cardstock circles, this time using regular 3D Foam Squares. I stamped and embossed my simple sentiment using black embossing powder.

Add the white cardstock layer to the black cardstock card base using those glittered Creative Photo Corners.

DIY Planner Pocket with Repositionable Adhesive Dots

Have you ever looked at your planner and knew you needed to add something? I was looking for a way to add a pocket that closes as I needed a place to store my more important receipts and notes that I knew they wouldn’t slip out of. Mine comes with plenty of open pockets, but I wanted to make one of my own that would close. Today I am going to show you how to use Adhesives Dots that are Repositionable and the E-Z Runner® Grand to make a DIY Planner Pocket!

Planner Pocket Close-ups

As you saw the Adhesive Dots being Repositionable are really a key part to the success of this Planner Pocket. I used them to both secure it to my planner cover as well as to close the pocket up. If they happen to get worn out, I can simply pull my box back out and replace them!

Now I am all ready to roll – thanks to a few simple supplies! But let’s not forget that this doesn’t have to be just for a planner! Additionally, you could make this for a Scrapbook Layout too and enclose something like a report card on it. You could also size it down and add it to a card as a fun and interactive element! Customize Foiled Shapes With Stamping

Foiled images are super fun to make. Pair foil with stamping and 3D Foam adhesives and you have a little magic going on! Hello, Terri here, wrapping up your weekend with a fun, creative project. Today, I’m going to show you how to stamp onto adhesive foam sheets to create your own custom 3D foiled images. I’ve got a three-minute technique video as well, so grab a cup of coffee and let’s chat!

Tools to Customize 3D Foiled Shapes

As you can see from the photos, I’ve foiled the unicorn’s horn. Here are the tools that you need to pull this off:

– 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit
– an acrylic block
– stamp of your choosing
– dark brush marker
– fine tipped scissors

All the basics will be covered in the video. In a nutshell, we’re going to stamp onto 3D Foam Creative Sheets, fussy cut, then foil. Easy, right?

BONUS TIP – COLORING ON 3D FOAM SHAPES

I thought it would be fun to color the rainbow from the 3D Foam Garden Shapes. Simply remove the adhesive by sprinkling baby powder on the exposed adhesive. Gently rub, then tap off the excess. I chose Distress oxide inks and a water brush for coloring both the rainbow and unicorns. Can we say multi-tasking?

FINISHING DETAILS

This stamp set comes with three different unicorns. I stamped and saved the third colored unicorn for the inside of my card, along with a strip of that yummy plaid paper, pictured above. Both are adhered with my E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser with the E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong Refill cartridge. The remaining elements are popped up, courtesy of the 3D Foam Circles White Mix, for added dimension.

Are you ready to create your own piece of artwork? Let’s get started!

Building the Layers of a Home

Mount a rectangle piece of chipboard onto a slightly larger piece of chipboard using Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/8in.

Glue pieces of honeycomb-shaped laser cuts onto the two corners of the smaller chipboard as shown below using the Dual Tip Glue Pen.

Place ribbon across the center of the base also using the Dual Tip Glue Pen

Adhere the buttons, flowers, wooden heart and gears with the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser

Adhere the wooden word element, Home, onto the base using 3D Foam Circles White Mix for dimension.

Next, randomly place 3D Foam Circles in spaces in between the honeycomb designs, pull off the liner and sprinkle small beads on top. Push the beads into the circles to secure.

Use the Dual Tip Glue Pen to pool glue onto the outer parts of the chipboard and sprinkle tiny beads on top and let dry (or use a heat tool to speed up drying time).

Wrap twine around the base, below Home, three times and knot the end.

Adding color:

You have finished the base of your Mixed Media Artwork. Let the real magic begin ?

Apply gesso to the collage for a good foundation to paint on. Dry thoroughly before starting.

Add accents using metallic acrylic paint. Use a water mister to help spread the paint. Make sure to turn your artwork so the paint runs into all the nooks and crannies of the layers.

Use a paper towel to remove any excess paint and also to dab extra paint into the details.

I kept the Home wooden element a crisp white to make it stand out from all the colors.

Randomly sprinkle glitter while your artwork is still wet so it sticks to the paint. Let dry again.

For the finishing touch to the collage, adhere the butterfly image with 3D Foam Circles White Mix. Tip: slightly bend the butterfly wings to make it more dimensional.

Shoot for the Stars Interactive Card

Hello Crafters! It’s Valerie here today, and I have a cute Shoot for the Stars interactive slider card that is perfect for congratulations, graduation, or a birthday! Here it is in action:

The Stars Scene Base

First, create your scene’s base: I used Distress Inks for this project. After I combined the colors and got them the way I liked them, I took my backdrop die and die cut the paper. Then I took my Dual Tip Glue Pen and applied the glue to the back of the paper, then adhered that piece to the yellow piece underneath it. (sorry for the blurry image!):

The Slider Details

This next section shows you how to create the fun interactive part – the slider! The first thing I like to do is get all the pieces that I’ll need die cut, and if anything needs to be glued, I get that done, also. This image shows the pieces needed, then the gluing of the u-shaped layers with my Dual Tip Glue Pen:

Here, I glued the double layered u-shaped pieces onto the slider unit with Dual Tip Glue Pen, then put my scene together using E-Z Runner Permanent Fine:

Now comes the applying of the clear window. First cut a piece of clear acetate. Then apply pieces of Premium Doube Sided Tape 1/8″ around the window opening on the back of the opening. Peel off the white backing and then apply the clear acetate. Fold the unit closed.

Die cut the piece that wil be pulled in and out of the window scene. I used my Dual Tip Glue Pen for gluing the yellow tab at the top. Put the sentiment piece through the die cut opening at the top and pull it all the way up. Then apply Premium Doube Sided Tape 1/8″ aroud the perimeter of the scene.

Fold down the unit in half, and make sure it is adhered tightly with the adhesive. Pull the tab up and down several times to make sure it slides easily:

How cute and fun! You are now down with this interactive piece!

Attach Interactive Piece to Base

After you adhere the sky scene base to the card base with E-Z Runner Permanent Fine, now you need to attach the interactive piece to the card. I wanted to raise it up a little, so I used Crafty Foam Tape Black for that job:

Gold Stars

Now came the part I had never done before! I wanted to have gold stars on the background sky, so I pulled out my 3D Foam Holiday Embellishment Kit (3D Foam Stars). I used the gold liner piece:

It actually took me a couple times, but once I got the hang of it, I wanted to make a ton of these cute stars!

After I put as many gold stars as I wanted on the card, I applied the remaining pieces that I colored with my Copics, and the card was complete!

Black Glue Patriotic Mandala Art

Happy 4th of July! Dana Tatar here today sharing a fun kids craft tutorial that uses black glue and markers to create a patriotic art mandala. Keep the kids entertained during your holiday celebration with this craft project that mimics the look of stained glass.

How to Create Black Glue Art

How to Use Repositional Dots with Vellum for Tracing

Creative Time: 1 Hour
Skill Level: Beginner

1. Select a printable mandala patriotic image or draw an original design. Use E-Z Dots Repositionable to secure a piece of vellum over the patriotic design.

2. Mix 3 parts of liquid glue from the Dual Tip Glue Pen with 1 part of black acrylic paint. Transfer the black glue into a bottle fitted with a fine tip applicator.

3. Apply black glue to the vellum, tracing the patriotic design. Work from the center of the design and progress out towards the edge of the paper. This formula is quick drying. Once I reached the outer edge of the design the center was dry. Let the design dry completely before proceeding to the next step. Save time by completing this step before any festivities.

4. Use red, white, and blue markers to color the design. Watercolors would also work for this step. I’m a stickler for coloring inside the lines. To make adding color to this design easier I applied color to the back side of the vellum so that I could color over the black glue stars in my design.

5. Cut a 1/2 inch cardstock frame for the artwork. Attach the frame to the vellum with E-Z Runner® Permanent Fine Adhesive.

6. Display finished mandala artwork in a window to catch the light.

Let’s Start Layering

I selected an ivory card base and mats of patterned paper and gold foil card. Each one affixed into place with MyStik® Permanent Strips. Because this adhesive is dispensed in little strips this makes it ideal to apply as little or as much as you need.

For my center card feature, I typed and printed my sentiment and then die cut to a square. I applied Creative Photo Corners Gold, this not only picked out the gold mirror card matting but added an elegant touch to the card.

Using Crafty Foam Tape to affix this square adds dimension and don’t forget it is also available in black.

The 3D Foam Squares White Small are ideal for embellishments and perfect for this mini die cut frame that is going onto the front of the card. It is possible to have both sizes of foam squares in one pack with 3D Foam Squares White Mix.

The finished project with die cut decoration and those shining Creative Photo Corners Gold.

Adhesive Details to Make Your Layout Shine

What do you use to add special details to your projects? If you’re anything like me, there’s always some a clever twist to a product, you just have to find it! Christine joining you today to show how I used my Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to add some clever twists and details to my scrapbook layout! Let’s dive in and look at you can use Adhesive Details to make your layout shine.

Down to the Details

On it’s own this layout has quite a few details – from patterned papers, to fussy cutting, to dots and splatters. BUT as you will see in my video the one of a kind details were added to enhance my water features.

First up I took my Dual Tip Glue Pen and used it to create small dots on the “waves” I had cut out. I did this pretty randomly but tried to do 2-3 in a row and I didn’t worry about them being perfectly uniform in size but instead went for variety. Next, I added glitter to each one in a coordinating aqua blue. Although I wouldn’t typically think of glitter for a boy layout BUT it’s supposed to represent the ocean and the ocean sparkles!

The second detail I added involved the versatile Adhesive Dots! I don’t know about you, but I do not have an endless supply of Enamel Dots. I sure do like to use them though! I’ve recently taken to creating a similar look with Adhesive Dots and Embossing Powder. While it doesn’t have quite the same dimension….it does bring in a different texture and look. In this case, I didn’t stress about where the embossing powder landed either. As you can see in the picture there are a few little extra little dots. Just looks like splatters for water, don’t you think?

Creating Happy Layers

This card is easy to pull together, you can gather summery, bright colored scraps and embellishments.

Tip: If you’re looking for a time saver on visual punch, look through your stash at your 3X4 journaling cards (I know everyone has a ton of those like I do!).

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L has so many different adhesives available for you to use your projects. Pictured above is E-Z Runner® Permanent Fine Adhesive Dispenser. This adhesive is so awesome for anything vellum or sheer. You have the hold of a quality adhesive without the lines!

I wanted this sun to stand out just a bit, so I used the 3D Foam Circles White Mix for dimension. It works perfectly for this shape with the right amount of pop for this card.

Assemble in Stages

Mat the pink rectangle layer to the card base to form the foundation with the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser. Its simple background for all the fun layers that will be added. Next, add a doily and a mosaic heart die cut slightly off center on top of the doily.

My centerpiece is the fun flamingo journal card which I wrapped twine around several times. Lastly, I added the sun embellishment with a cute polka dot tab.

Tip: Use Adhesive Dots Mini to keep that twine bow in place. If you add a dot behind the bow, it will keep secured nice and neat. These awesome adhesive dots can be used for sequins, and other small embellishments you may want to add to your card.

Farmhouse Style Memo Board Tutorial

Memo Board Supplies:

First, you can use any type of fabric for this project. You will also need a metal clip with a small screw, a pre-made chalkboard or wooden board, Adhesive Sheets 12×12 inch, Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/2in and 3D Foam Circles White Mix.

Let’s Get Started:

To begin, you will trace the board outline onto a sheet of the Adhesive Sheets 12×12 inch and then cut out. Next, you will apply the adhesive from the sheet onto the board. You can also use a bone folder to make sure the adhesive transfers and bonds well.

Secondly, you will cut the fabric and leave at least a 1″ border on all four sides.

Next, you will need to cut into the fabric so that you can wrap the excess to the back of the board like a present. Use the Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/2in to secure the ends down.

For this final part, you will cut a piece of chipboard to match the size of the board. Apply adhesive from the Adhesive Sheets 12×12 inch to the chipboard and attach to the back of the board.

The Embellishing Details:

The most fun part about this project is that you can embellish with just about anything! I chose to create layered felt flowers and attached them with the 3D Foam Circles White Mix.

You can find knobs, hooks, and clips at hardware or craft stores! I chose this glass knobbed clip and screwed it into the front of the board. Now it’s ready for note-hanging, to-do list, and grocery lists!
