2018 Happy New Year Shaker Card

Happy New Year, friends! I wanted to bring in the new year with some sparkle so why not do it with a shaker feature?! It is so simple with Keepsake Envelopes so let’s get started.

Give 2018 a Shake!

To make the card base, die-cut a square on an A2 (4.25 x 5.5 in) size card front to create a window. To add sparkle, place Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4 in. at the bottom of the card (make sure you have enough space for a sentiment – I used the stamp as a guide) and leave the liner on. Stamp sentiment in black ink.

Remove the liner from the Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4 in., pour gold glitter on top and push the glitter into the tape. Tap off excess and you have a beautiful glittery border! Set aside.

Let’s work on the shaker feature – it’s SO EASY! Cut patterned paper to fit inside a large Keepsake Envelope. Add sequins inside (and in front of patterned paper). Take the liner off from the front of the envelope and close the flap.

Now to attach the shaker to the card base by applying the E-Z Runner® Micro Refillable Dispenser close to the edge of the window as possible. Curl the ends of the shaker liner together to make a “handle” for easy placement over the window. DO NOT REMOVE THE LINER YET because you’ll use it to push the edges together for a secure hold.

Not sure if you can see the white liner on the edge so I took two different images.

Next, we need to cover up the shaker from the inside of the card. So apply E-Z Runner® Grand Dispenser Permanent Strips on edges of the white cardstock piece that is trimmed 4.25 x 5.5 in. Remove liner of Keepsake Envelope and place white cardstock over to cover the entire side.

A Shiny New Year!

Let’s get creative with the card front and start with the 2018 dimensional die cuts. By trimming the 3D Foam Creative Sheet from the 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit, I can see where to place them on the steel rule dies.

After die-cutting them, I peeled off the back liner and place them on top of the shaker window.

Next, take off the top liner of the first number only and place the gold foil over it (shiny side UP) and rub gently. As a result, you are transferring the foil onto your die-cut. Repeat with each number.

Finally, add sequins to the corners of the card base using a combination of Adhesive Dots Mini and Adhesive Dots Small. Here’s a second look…

Creating Subtle Embellishing with Adhesive Dots

I’m creating subtle embellishments on my holiday layout today. Christmas has come and past this week, but I am going to venture to guess that you still have plenty of Christmas pictures to get into a scrapbook layout. I decided that rather than pack all those pictures up and save them for next year, I’d continue to do some scrapping while the memories are still fresh.

Due to the busy-ness of the season, I wanted to keep things simple! So I went with a clean and simple layout showcasing subtle embellishing using Dodz Adhesive Dots Small. Subtle doesn’t mean boring though – in fact, in this case, it means you get to WEAR YOUR ADHESIVE ON THE OUTSIDE!

The layout as a whole contains just a few simple elements – patterned paper, cardstock, gesso, glitter, and enamel dots. It looks like more though doesn’t it?!? That’s because of awesome adhesives!

In spite of not using any stickers – the layout still looks like it has a lot going on. One way to achieve that look is by using multiple adhesives. I combined the E-Z Runner® Grand with the Crafty Foam Tape to give my ornaments a variety of looks. To add glitter to the center of several snowflakes I used Dodz Adhesive Dots Small. Subtle embellishing using adhesive dots is a great way to add character and texture to a scrapbook layout.

My die cut title was really skinny so I wanted a wet adhesive for this layout because I knew I was adhering part of it to a glossy picture. Because of that, I used the Dual Tip Glue Pen but in a different method. Even that tip was wide for my title so I squeeze some glue out of it onto a scratch paper. Then I dipped my title into it gently. You can see exactly what I mean by that in my video tutorial below.

Sending Joy Card with 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit

Sending Joy to you with this wintery card! Hello, Judy here to share a shiny and metallic look by using 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit. I love how this turned out and everything is in the kit! Just die cut the words out of 3D Foam Creative Sheet and apply the blue foil…that’s it!

Setting the Scene for Sending Joy Card

Using a light blue card panel, I stamped and heat embossed the tree landscape in white. To assemble the layers of card panels, I used E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser. For a sparkly interest to the stamped image, I first colored with white marker. Next, added on top with Dual Tip Glue Pen and then sprinkled chunky and fine glitters.

The words “Sending Joy” are delicate die cuts so I have a tip on how to cut it from 3D Creative Sheets, After die-cutting the words, I left it in the die. Peel the adhesive backing while still in the die and placed it on the card panel. When the word adhered, I remove the die and the die cut words are in its place. I firmly pressed them in place before removing the adhesive backing on its front side. I placed blue foil from 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit over it and rubbed well. When removed, the words are shiny metallic blue with a touch of dimension!

Fun and Sassy Card Trio with Embellishments

We have a set of fun and sassy cards to share today. Do you love adding fun embellishments to your cards like me? I’d like to share some of the ways I attach embellishments using different Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® adhesives.

Whether you like little delicate embellishments or heavier embellishments that really make a statement on your cards, there is a perfect adhesive for each of those jobs and everything in between.

Sassy Embellishments on La Bella Vita Card

Because of the size of these small lightweight sequins, I used Dodz Adhesive Dots Mini. I love that there are so many different sizes to choose from. If you need to go even smaller, you could use Adhesive Dots Micro.

In order to hold my ribbon in place, I use Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/8″ Permanent. With just a small strip on the back of the cardstock piece to hold it in place, I add the ribbon and tie the bow.

Sassy Details on Take Note Card

Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/8″ Permanent was used in a couple of different ways such as adding my vintage trim to the bottom of the card and a strip of fine black glass glitter just above the trim (just add my tape to the card and sprinkle glitter on top, then tap off excess).

My matted image was popped up with Crafty Foam Tape White behind it before I add it to my card base.

See the small wood arrow? Dodz Adhesive Dots Mini was used to secure it. The vintage flower embellishment adhered with Dodz Adhesive Dots Medium.

Details on Keep It Sassy Card

On this card, I used Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/8″ Permanent to add my fabric trim just as I did with the ribbon on my first card. In addition, 3D Foam Squares White Small were applied to the back of the glasses that I fussy cut and as a result, it adds a fun dimension to the card!

Little felt flowers were secured with Dodz Adhesive Dots Mini. I’ve used these adhesive dots on felt, paper and wood and plastic on all these cards, and they hold great!

So if you are a lover of embellishments like I am, you can see here that there are many options for adhesives for each specific job. Remember, if all else fails, add another EMBELLISHMENT! LOL!!

Happiness is Handmade Card Making

Handmade cards are always an appreciated sight in the mailbox. Most of us have a little downtime between the holidays, now is the perfect time to send out “just because” and/or “thank you” cards.

I hope all of our readers that celebrate Christmas, had a wonderful holiday! This paper collection sitting mostly untouched, so I decided to create a few cards. What I love about a paper collection, is that everything coordinates, and there are images and sentiments ready to use.

For this card, I used some patterned paper, die cuts and adhesive, oh and a card base!

Creating Handmade

Create an A2 sized card base which is 4.25 x 5.5 in.
Trim the patterned paper to fit the card front with a little bit of border on all four sides (aka card panel). Then adhere the card panel to the card front using MyStik® Permanent Strips Dispenser.
Adhere scalloped rectangle die cut to the card using Crafty Foam Tape White for some dimension.
Adhere various shaped die cuts using 3D Foam Squares White, Regular for more dimension and interest.

Although it’s a simple add of 3D Foam products, it gives a sweet card like this a little something to wow your recipient 🙂

Christmas Tree Embellishment with Photo Corners

Merry Christmas! Dana Tatar here with you today sharing a Christmas-themed scrapbook layout. I designed a handmade Christmas tree embellishment for my page using Polypropylene Photo Corners.

I enjoy visiting family and friends during the holiday season. One of the first things I look for in any home is the tree with all its twinkling lights and ornaments. I wanted to capture some of that joy for this project. I took these photos of my daughters last year at my Mom’s house in front of her tree.

Assemble and Decorate a Christmas Tree with Photo Corners

Cut a triangle out of white cardstock.
Layer Polypropylene Photo Corners onto the cardstock until covered. Then, trim any overhanging photo corners from the edge of the cardstock.
Add color to the tree with alcohol ink.
Decorate the tree with 3D Foam Shapes from the 3D Foam Holiday Embellishment Kit. Lastly, apply foil to the 3D Foam Shapes.

Christmas Tree Holiday Card Making

The Christmas tree is taking center stage on my holiday card today! Merry Christmas Eve to you! Michele here with a Christmas tree stamp from Stampendous that has been enhanced and is the focal point. I’m excited to show you how!

Christmas Tree Card Making

Stamp the Christmas tree image, color with Copic Markers and use a few drops of glossy accents and glitter to enhance the design. Set aside to dry.
Next, stamp the cardinal and star image, again color and add glossy accents and glitter as well. Set those aside.
Let’s stamp the background with a snowflake stamp on white cardstock (the card panel). I adhered it to the light blue card base using the E-Z Squares®.
Hand cut a few snow slopes and inked the edges. Trim off to fit the card panel and adhered them using the E-Z Squares®.
For my sentiment, I stamped with black ink on the lower right corner of the card panel.
After fussy cutting the Christmas tree, I tucked its bottom behind the snow slope and adhered it with E-Z Squares®.
Fussy cut the cardinal and star. Pop them up with 3D Foam Squares White Small for dimension. For more sparkle, I adhered a few sequins using Dodz Adhesive Dots Mini.

Now it’s ready to be given away. Love the pop of color against the white and blue. So festive! I hope you and your family have a joyous holiday 🙂 Thank you for popping in today!

How adorable is this Sweet Tweet Christmas Gift Tag?! Give your gift an extra CUTE accent for the holidays! I hope that you are all having fun Christmas shopping. No matter how big or small the present, a handmade layered gift tag on your gift make it extra special and adds a personal touch.

Yvonne here sharing such a tag that I hope will do just that! With a combination of E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser, Adhesive Dots Medium and 3D Foam Squares, it will be SO EASY and QUICK to assemble a tag.

Creating the Sweet Tweet Tag

1. Emboss the Kraft tag with the Medallion Embossing Folder.
2. Add ribbon and trim with E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.
3. Layer the two (hand cut) banner shapes together with E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser and then adhere it to the tag.
4. Stamp and color image on the circle die cut.
5. Apply 3D Foam Squares White Regular Size to the back of the stamped circle die cut and center onto the layered banner on the tag.
6. Finally, add mulberry flowers and leaves to the top and bottom of the circle using Adhesive Dots Medium to secure. Thread a ribbon through the tag hole to finish.

Tip: I also use the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser to wrap my presents…to seal the paper! Yep, a perfect way not to see any tape on the gift itself! It makes your presents look so professional!

Peaceful Christmas Layout

Welcome back crafty friends and Happy Christmas! I love the holidays and decorating for it too. Each year I like to take a few photos of my decor, old favourites and new additions. Don’t forget to document the little things that make your holidays special. Today I have a simple Christmas scrapbook layout to share using some of my favourite adhesives, and featuring a holiday decor photo.

Putting up the Christmas Tree

I decorated my patterned Christmas tree using buttons and gems with Adhesive Dots Micro. For the large hanging ornaments, 3D Foam Squares White Mix does the trick. The bows are secured using the Adhesive Dots Micro.

Often I create lots of layers of matting for my photos and the E-Z Runner Grand is my go-to adhesive for all of my paper layers. I added Creative Photo Corners Gold to my photo, for that little extra sparkle.

For more dimension I used 3D Foam Squares White Mix to pop the photo from the layout.

I die cut my title from black cardstock. Anything intricate like this die cut, I use the Dual Tip Glue Pen. It dries clear and stays put.

Lastly, I used 3D Foam Squares White Mix to add dimension to the poinsettia on one of the ornaments.

Letter to Santa Scrapbook Layout

Do your children write to Santa Claus? My boys write a letter to Santa (ME – lol!) every year and I love to read them. My little one is eight and he loves to write because he is sure that Santa is real.

Hello everyone, Jana here with you today. With Christmas around the corner, I have a new holiday layout! I used a lot of 3D Foam Products: 3D Foam Squares White Regular Size and 3D Foam Squares White Small under the stars and my picture.

Featured photo is my oldest one writing but not to Santa. But the photo is one of my favorites and it fit the occasion so I used it 😉

Writing to Santa

Using papers and elements from my stash, I took out my star punch and scissors create my own kind of stars. For more stars, I used the 3D Foam Stars and gold foil from the 3D Foam Holiday Embellishment Kit to add more dimensional and shiny accents.

Here is the complete layout below and I really love how it turned out! To define the shape of the tree, white acrylic paint was added and it will help the eye to see the shape better.
