All Things Silver Greeting Card

Hello, it’s Christine here today with an All Things Silver greeting card.  I’m going to show you that Creative Photo Corners are not just for photos! Please take a look to see how this card is easily made with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® products.

All Things Silver Greeting Card by Christine Emberson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Silver in our Greeting

First I stamped a script design in silver onto black cardstock.  There’s something very classic about using metallic colors. Creative Photo Corners Silver  enhance the stamped image perfectly.  Creative Photo Corners also provide a nice frame for focal points on your projects.

I matted the stamped card onto silver foil card and a white card base using MyStik® Permanent Strips. Because this adhesive is dispensed in little strips, it is ideal for applying as little or as much as you need. You can make long lines, curves or tiny, individual pieces right where you need them.

To decorate my card, I die-cut butterflies from black cardstock and used silver gilding wax to highlight the edges.  For more silver accents, flowers and tiny leaves were die-cut and secured with the new 3D Foam Circles Black Mix. The smaller circles in this pack fit the tiny embellishments perfectly.

Here is the finished project, two flying silver butterflies with a shot of color from the pretty red flowers.

Be sure to check out all the super handy adhesives on the website. Thanks for stopping by!

Loaded Envelope Bag Tutorial

Hello, everyone! It’s Shelly McDaniel here with my very first project to share, The Loaded Envelope Bag.  I tend to be late to the party sometimes, but I stumbled upon this idea a couple of weeks ago and I just had to make one!

Loaded Envelope Bag by Shellye McDaniel for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Create an Envelope Bag

To get started, I took a 12″ double-sided piece of scrapbook paper and with a score board, scored one side of the paper at 3.25″ and 9″.  Next, I turned the paper 90 degrees and scored at 9″.

Fold the paper along the score lines.  Fold the last scored line of the paper up to create a pocket.

Use the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser with the E-Z Runner® Grand Permanent Dots Refill to adhere the bottom and back flap together to create a bag with pockets.

Make it Stand

Next, I cut a piece of heavyweight 6 x 8.5″ chipboard and applied Adhesive Sheets 12×12 inch on one side. Trim the excess. Burnish the backing to transfer the adhesive onto the chipboard and peel off. With a sheet of 12 x 8.5″ patterned paper, wrap the chipboard (make sure the adhesive side is facing you). Once wrapped, secure with the exposed adhesive and this becomes easel piece of your envelope.

Now let’s connect the envelope and easel! Score the top (open end) of the envelope 0.50″ from the top. Cut away the front piece to leave a back flap. This becomes the hinge to attach the easel.

Apply the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser with the E-Z Runner® Grand Permanent Dots Refill to the back of the flap.  Attach it the top of the easel.  Voila!

Let’s Embellish

In decorating the front of the envelope/bag, I used the 3D Foam Circles White Mix to give dimension to various embellishments such as stickers, chipboard pieces and die cuts.

For the resin star, I used the Adhesive Dots Large to attach it to the front of the chipboard boot.

Loaded Envelope Bag by Shellye McDaniel

Now the envelope/bag is ready to fill with tags, ephemera or other goodies to go along with the theme of your bag.  These are super fun to make for swaps or to gift to your favorite paper crafter!  Have fun!

Spring Bliss Cards with Vellum

Is Spring beginning to bloom in your neck of the woods? Hello friends, Linsey with you today. Here in the Pacific NW, we are at the height of our rainy season and hopeful still that all these April showers will indeed bring the beautiful May flowers yet to come. With that in mind, I created a pair of Spring-inspired cards that a sure to brighten your day.

Spring Bliss Cards with Vellum by Linsey Rickett for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Specialty Adhesives on Spring Cards:

When crafting, one of my favorite types of paper to work with is vellum. However, I often opt out of using vellum due to the delicate nature of the paper and its semi-transparency, which makes it nearly impossible to adhere to anything without showing the adhesive and compromising the integrity of a project. ….until now! The E-Z Runner® Permanent Fine Adhesive Dispenser is a vellum lover’s dream come true! As a first time user of this product, I must say that I’m so impressed with the results and now I can hardly wait to play with all that precious vellum I’ve been so reluctant to use. If you’re looking for a vellum adhesive that you can trust, this is it.

Adding Accents to Cards:

To create a more prominent focal point of each card, I used Creative Photo Corners Mix Pack. I chose gold and black photo corners to enclose the 3×4 element on the card front. This gives my cards another layer of dimension and a nice finished look. Another fantastic feature of these photo corners is they are already sticky on the backside, so there’s no extra fuss. Simply place where desired and you’re all set.

For a final touch, I added a few sequins to each card using the Dual Tip Glue Pen. One side has a fine tip and the other has a 1/2″ wide brush for wider application. It dries clear, bonds permanently in 3-5 minutes and works great for all your fine embellishment needs. From sequins to beads to glitter and back to paper, this glue pen does it all.

Thanks so much for visiting today. I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing a couple of the unique products that Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® has to offer for your specialty crafting needs.

Until next time, happy crafting!

DIY Planner Stickers with Adhesive Sheets

Are you a planner addict? If you are, I am going to share how I used Adhesive Sheets 12×12 inch to create planner stickers. Yes, you read right! Planner stickers are amazing but the selection can be overwhelming! You can make your own…yes..you really can. Hi, Shannon here and it’s my first post today! I am excited to show you!

DIY Planner Stickers by Shannon Morgan for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Planner Sticker Creation

What you’ll need for this project are: Adhesive Sheets 12×12 inch, white cardstock, an electronic cutting machine and your computer. I found a free planner size template online so do a search. I made mine simple and added plain shapes, titles and fonts from my machine. Then filled with colors or patterns.

Here’s a sample of one of the sheets I created. Tip: add registration marks to your sheet or they won’t cut correctly.

Next, print out your “sticker sheet” onto cardstock. Afterward, adhere it to the Adhesive Sheets 12×12 inch. It will look like the image below. Oops! Kinda big 🙂 Smooth it out, get rid of air bubbles and trim to size. For the next sheet, I trimmed the Adhesive Sheet to 8.5 x 11″ and applied to the back of the cardstock. HA! The adhesive sheets are so easy to use. They cover a large area for edge-to-edge adhesive. I wanted to show you that even us designers make mistakes!

Cut the designs from the sheet. Each machine is different but I set mine to cut thick, heavy cardstock. Pictured below are the two sheets ready to be used.

Now let’s plan! Use them all, some or hang onto them for future weeks! Here are close-up of my stickers.

Hope you enjoyed my project! Thanks for stopping by!

Pocket Inspiration Card with Self-Laminating Pouches

I have an inspiration card with a small pocket inspiration card, made with Self-Laminating Pouches – Cards Small, attached to the card base. Used a combination of Creative Photo Corners Gold and Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6 inch to assemble and Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix for a little dimension.

Pocket Inspiration Card with Self-Laminating Pouches by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

A quick design tip: when the pocket inspiration card is removed, the same verse is underneath so the greeting card still looks complete!

Pocket Inspiration Card Making

Cut paper to 2.25 x 3.5 inches to fit Self-Laminating Pouches – Cards Small, round the corners and stamp the verse.

Place in Self-Laminating Pouch.

Note that I placed verse side against the hard side of Self-Laminating Pouch which doesn’t have adhesive as shown in the photo.

Burnish/press Self-Laminating Pouch firmly to seal it well.

The card panels were backed with Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6 inch.  This makes assembly easy and all the edges sealed well so they won’t catch when removing or replacing pocket inspiration card. The verse piece is cut smaller (2 x 3.25 inches) to hide behind the laminated pocket inspiration card.

Assembling the Card

Peel adhesive backing from just the corners of dot card panel and place Creative Photo Corners Gold on each corner.  The Adhesive Sheet will hold photo corners in place.

Next, fully peel backing and place dot card panel on the gold card panel.  Peel backing from gold card panel and place on black mat.  The black mat does not have Adhesive Sheets on its back. Peel backing from verse paper and center onto the dot card panel.

Add Thin 3D Foam Squares – Black Mix to back of the black mat.

Form 4 x 6.5 inch cream card base and cut patterned paper to fit it.  Cut a band of stripe paper and fasten with  E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser to patterned paper.  Tie gold cord in a knot.  Wrap ends around stripe paper to back and fasten with E-Z Runner® Ultra Refillable Dispenser.  It’s really strong to hold the cord.

Fasten to card front with E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser and
E-Z Runner® Ultra Refillable Dispenser.  I use the Ultra adhesive at the corners and the Dots adhesive along edges.

Fasten the assembled inspiration card panel to card front by removing the backing from Thin 3D Foam Squares.  Insert pocket inspiration card into photo corners and it’s ready to share with someone!

Thanks for visiting and Happy Creating!

Stamped Popcorn Card Tutorial

We’re going to be putting together a fun stamped popcorn card using products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®. Featuring Adhesive Sheets to create a glittery circle and add some pop and dimension with 3D Foam Squares. To hold everything together, we’ll be using the E-Z Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser! Hi, everyone! Teri here today with a tutorial so let’s get started!

Stamped Popcorn Card Tutorial by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Stamped Popcorn Card with an Adhesive Sheet Technique

Start by die-cutting two circle shapes. You’ll cut a large circle from cardstock and the smaller circle from a scrap piece of an Adhesive Sheet 12×12 inch.

Take the adhesive sheet circle and remove the liner. Dump glitter over the exposed adhesive. I prefer fine glitter when I craft, but you can use any type of glitter. If chunky glitter is your thing, go with chunky glitter. It’s all good!

Shake off the excess glitter. Use the liner paper to burnish the glitter into the circle shape. It helps to ensure a good even coating of glitter.

Use the E-Z Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser to layer the circles together.

Finishing Up

Add patterned paper to a card folded from cardstock and adhere the glittered circle.

Stamp and color with markers the adorable popcorn tubs. Fussy cut them out with your scissors.

Next cut a strip of white cardstock and stamp a sentiment onto it. Tie white twine around it.

Adhere the popcorn tubs and sentiment to your card with 3D Foam Squares. These 3D Foam Squares are awesome because they will give your card just a bit of pop to help make them really stand out.

Finish your card by adding a die-cut heart to it! Again, use the 3D Foam Squares to adhere it to your Stamped Popcorn Card!

Simple 3D Foam and Foil Card

Welcome back crafty friends! Today I have a fun little card to share that I created using 3D Foam and Foil. Here are all of the details.

Crafty confession: I love simple, geometric and symmetrical design. So when I saw that Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L had come out with 3D Foam Circles, I knew I wanted to create a card design using them as an embellishment rather than JUST as an adhesive.

Simple Foam and Foil Card by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Using Foil with Adhesives

First I started by creating my cardstock card layers. The base of my card is 6×6. I used  circle dies for the smaller layers.

On the smallest black cardstock circle, I added the sticker sentiment in the middle and then started adding the 3D Foam Circles to create a decorative border.

Remove the top liner from only the large 3D Foam Circles and use green foil from the 3D Foam Holiday Embellishment Kit add colour to the foam. Simply touch the foil to the adhesive – colored side up – and rub gently.

Next, remove the liner from all of the small 3D Foam Circles, and use the blue foil to add colour. (Again, apply with the colored side facing up!)

Next use the E-Z Runner Ultra and Silver Creative Photo Corners, and adhere the black cardstock (5.5 x 5.5 inches) to the 6 x 6 inches card base.

Once the silver sequined adhesive heart embellishments were added, I used 3D Foam Squares to adhere the layered circle to the card base.

I love the sparkle and dimension that the 3D Foam Circles with foil adds to the card. They’re no longer just for hiding between the layers!

Happy crafting and have a sparkly day.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Create a Textured Background Using Adhesive Sheets

Are you looking for a fun and fresh way to create a background?  Or just a different approach to get those creative juices flowing? It’s Christine joining you today with a boy layout that showcases a background created with Adhesive Sheets and Embossing Powder!

How to Create a Textured Background using Adhesive Sheets from Scrapbook Adheisives by 3L and Embossing Powder

I love to play with mixed media BUT sometimes it’s fun to go a different route when you are making a background.  In this case I knew I wanted a lot of splotchy white in my background.  But I didn’t want anything wet.  This is where Adhesive Sheets came into play for my background.  I used them in combination with embossing powder to get the job done. I made a process video that will walk you thru exactly how I created the background.

Adhesive Sheet Background Video Tutorial:

As you can see the combination makes for a bold and textured look that is very different from a wet mixed media approach.

Using opaque embossing powder made it really stand out but there are so many options out there to experiment with.  If you want something more subtle you can definitely play around and find out what works for you!

I also incorporated the Adhesive Sheets as I used my metal die cut machine to cut out small stars for embellishments. I used the sheets in a very traditional manner in this case – using them to back my embellishments. Additionally I opted to pop some stars up and the 3D Foam Circles were the perfect candidate for that work!

Thanks for joining me today – I hope you can find some fun ways to Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside too! Be sure to see my other Adhesive Sheet tutorial Colorful Background Using Adhesive Sheets

Customized Travelers Notebook Cover

Travelers notebooks are a great way to document life moments in a convenient diary-style format.  Although this journal cover is designed to chronicle my teenager’s culinary adventures, the theme works perfectly for documenting your own food travels, weight loss journey or other diary usages.  Hello, Terri here, sharing ideas to help you create a fun, themed cover for your special journey!

Themed Elements for Your Travelers Notebook

No matter the topic of your journal, you’ll want to tie everything together.  Since I have a teenager involved in the culinary world, I’ve been slowly building a little nest egg of food themed craft supplies, many of which are featured in today’s project.    My “clock” represents setting the timer and also, the timed cooking competitions that he participates in.  I chose the words “Good Eats” to represent the various recipes and food adventures that will be chronicled here, as well.  Lastly, I’m using food themed designer papers and die cuts for added “spice”!

Die Cutting with Adhesive Sheets

Today’s project features the Adhesive Sheets 6×12 in for my paper clock background, the clock numbers and the sentiment.  Whether using a hand crank or electric die cut machine, you’ll love the versatility of the entire adhesive sheets product line.  Keeping in mind that my TN journal is 5″ x 8.25″, I’ve designed all my elements accordingly.

Here’s a quick run-down of my element dimensions:

  • 3.5″ Circle for clock
  • 1/2″ numbers for clock
  • 4″W x 3.5″H Sentiment

Place a 4″ section of the adhesive sheet to the back of your designer paper, then die cut your circle, peel backing and apply to upper half of journal.

Embellish Your Die Cuts

Next, use the black sheet from the 3D Foam Creative Sheets to cut images from the Spellbinders What’s Cookin’ die cut set with your table top die cut machine.  For the bowl, peel the top lining off, then apply silver foil from the 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit, shiny side up.  Gently rub and peel lining.  For the mixing blender die cut, I stabilized my die cut with one of the dots from the Adhesive Dots Large Repositionable, placing it on the backing.  Next, peel the top lining, and sprinkle with black embossing powder.  Tap off excess and heat with a craft heat tool.  Peel the back lining on both die cuts and adhere to center of the circle.  A great way to Wear Your Adhesive On The Outside!

I used my electric die cut machine with the adhesive sheets for the numbers and sentiment.   For the die cut numbers, peel adhesive backing, then place your numbers at the 15 minute mark first, to better center the rest of your numbers.  Cut your sentiment in the same manner and adhere to the lower portion of your journal.  I actually, cut two sets of the adhesive sentiments and stacked them for more dimension.

I’m so happy with how my cover turned out.  Hopefully, I can show you some journal pages in the future, once we start documenting, which will be very soon; my teen is headed to the FCCLA National Competition in Atlanta this summer!

Be sure and visit my blog for the full product list.
See you next time!  Terri

Building Layers of Love

On the patterned kraft cardstock layer, alter, ink and tear for a distressed look first then mount on a piece of pink cardstock panel with the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser. Then adhere both layers cardstock to a white card base.

Die-cut the hearts from pink and pink patterned cardstock. Sand the pink heart to highlight its embossed design. Adhere both hearts to the card base using 3D Foam Squares White Regular Size.

Die-cut and ink a banner. To adhere the banner to the card base, use 3D Foam Squares White Small Size: one on both ends and stack two in the middle for an extra dimension.

Die-cut the sentiment and adhere to the banner using the smaller tip of the Dual Tip Glue Pen for precision.

Adhere the flowers, leaves, buttons, and rhinestones to the card using Adhesive Dots: Adhesive Dots Large for the leaves, flowers and larger buttons and Adhesive Dots Micro for the small buttons, sequins, and rhinestones.

I hope you enjoyed my instructions on how to make the card and wish you happy crafting!
