Monochromatic Weekly Bullet Journal Spread

Welcome back to the blog. Latrice here and I’m excited to share with you a great monochromatic bullet journal spread. Bullet journaling has taken the world by storm. It’s a fun journal that you can keep simple or get super artsy.

This year I plan to use mine to track goals, weekly happenings, and even meal planning. For this month I went with fun tones of green inspired by the St. Patrick’s Day theme. I kept my weekly plan simple this month. Take a look.

Planning a Journal Spread

I pulled out green pieces that I thought would work. When bullet journaling you have to keep the pages somewhat thin. The new 3D Foam Circle White Mix is probably my “new favorite” product. The circle shape is perfect for smaller round embellishments and more. On this week’s spread, I used the 3D Foam Circle White Mix and E-Z Dots® Permanent Dispenser. Below you can see exactly how those were created.

Finishing Touches

Creating a spread means you’ll need to do a little planning ahead of time. Start with a pencil and then once the spread is planned out you can then go over everything in black ink. Fill in your “to-do” list, add menu ideas and write about anything else that is important to you this week. Check out my spread and all the details.

From Drab to Fab Easter Card

Welcome back crafty friends! Today I have a simple card tutorial to share that can take your patterned paper from Drab to Fab. With Easter right around the corner I have been crafting with bunnies and eggs on the mind lately. I must admit, I don’t have a whole lot of Easter papers in my craft stash, but I did find this simple plaid pattern from an older birthday collection. Here is how I took it from plain and drab to Easter fab on this card.

Fab Easter Card

Making a Drab Card to Fab!

This is the plain plaid patterned paper that I started with. It’s a bit drab, so I thought it needed a little dressing up.

Using the Extreme Double Sided Tape 1/8 in, I added adhesive strips up the middle of all of the teal stripes in this plaid pattern.

Next I used a fine glitter and covered all of the Extreme Double Sided Tape 1/8 inch strips.

Tap and clean off all of the excess glitter. Revealing the perfect sparkle for this plaid paper.

I added another pink cardstock mat before adhering all of the layers together on a white cards base using my E-Z Runner Ultra Strong adhesive.

The coloured a paintable image, it was matted in teal cardstock and then added to the card using Crafty Foam Tape.

I used alcohol pens to add colour to the paintable image.

Sweet Spring Card with Sparkle and Dimension!

Spring is coming! I’ve been inspired by a set of stamps that had this sweet frog image that was perfect for spring 🙂 I have been rediscovering some of my “old” stamp sets and trying to find ways to give them new life.

Good morning!  Michele here with a card that uses two of my favorite products from Scrapbook Adhesives: Adhesive Dots and Crafty Foam Tape. They are my “go-to” products and they are always close at hand.

Sweet Spring Card with Sparkle and Dimension by Michele Kovack for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Spring into Card Making!

The foundation of the card was a kraft frame to draw the eye in and used Crafty Foam Tape to adhere it to the scored background. Next, I layered the gold glittery paper and the red cardstock behind it using additional Crafty Foam Tape. Who doesn’t love more dimension?! This gal does!

Using Adhesive Dots Mini, I added a paper bow and a few rhinestones for that extra sparkle!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Adhesives Every Scrapbooker Needs

As a Scrapbooker the adhesives that I need are a little different from a Cardmaker or other Crafter.  While there is definitely some overlap, there are also some things I have to have on hand or I wouldn’t even attempt to make a layout.  Today I am going to review what those are and show you how I use them on this Boy Scrapbook Layout.

Adhesives every Scrapbooker Needs from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Here’s the 5 Adhesives Every Scrapbooker Needs:

3D Foam Squares White Mix
E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser
E-Z Runner® Micro Refillable Dispenser
Adhesive Dots
Dual Tip Glue Pen

On this layout I used all of these, multiple times, except the Adhesive Dots.  Normally I do need the Adhesive Dots also…just happened that my small embellishments this time had adhesive already or are popped up!

To secure my title – I popped it up with 3D Foam Squares in both the Small and Regular Size.

My picutres and the papers underneath are secured using a combination of the Micro EZ Runner, 09E-Z Runner Grand,  and 3D Foam Squares.  And let’s not forget the stars which went on with 3D Foam Squares and the Dual Tip Glue Pen.

In today’s video I am going to walk you thru how I used each adhesive and in some cases, why I specifically chose that one.

While there are a whole host of adhesive products that I wouldn’t want to be without and I love to have on hand to enhance my projects, theses five are the ones that are absolute musts for each layout!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Spring Dimensional Insect Card with 3D Foam Squares

Spring air brings life to flowers and little insects. Inspired by that thought I created a lovely insect card. If you can put the words, lovely and insect together, I think I accomplished that – LOL!

Hello everyone, Yvonne here with a spring themed card. I’m sharing a tutorial on how to make a cute card with lots of tiny bug die cuts using equal amounts of 3D Foam Squares to make a dynamic background.

Spring Dimensional Insect Card with 3D Foam Squares by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L,

I love 3D Foam Squares because they give a card such a lovely 3D effect…they make the tiny butterflies and dragonflies look like the fly/float over the card.

And another great thing about 3D Foam Squares is that weigh almost nothing so when sending it keeps the postage costs low! I am happy to show you how to make the card. Let’s get started!

Spring Dimensional Insect Card

On a white rectangle card base, layer two card panels of blue cardstock and patterned paper with the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser. The top card panel in grey cardstock with 3D Foam Squares White Mix (largest 3D Foam Squares).

Die-cut lots of butterflies, dragonflies and bugs with gold cardstock. Adhere them to the card using 3D Foam Squares White Mix.  I cut 3D Foam Squares White Mix Small in half to fit behind the tiny die cuts.

Then I embellished some of the die-cuts with round and heart-shaped pearls. Some of the pearls had no adhesives on the backs so I used Adhesive Dots Micro to adhere them to the card. Tip: use tweezers for positioning tiny embellishments.

For my card, I chose not to use a sentiment. But it would be easy to stamp a sentiment onto cardstock, cut it into a banner and adhere it to the card with 3D Foam Squares ?

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial and wish you happy crafting!

Hugs from Holland,
Yvonne

Eclipse Cards Duet and Tutorial

Eclipse cards are all the rage right now and I’ve been itching to try this technique.  What is an eclipse card?  It’s a card with a hidden word, which appears to seamlessly blend within stamped or patterned paper.  Hello, Terri here, sharing easy steps so you create your own eclipse card!

Eclipse Cards Duet and Tutorial by Terri Burson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Making an Eclipse Card

The typical eclipse card requires large alphabet die cuts ranging from 1.5″ to 2.5″ on average.  These alpha cuts are sized at 2″ and cut with my Cricut Explore.  There are alternate cut options, including the use of stencils to trace and fussy cut your letters. There are various brands that will work with manual die-cutting machines. You’ll find more technical information on my blog regarding the creative die cutting process.

This black and white patterned paper was perfect to create my die cuts.  Leave your die cuts in place when coloring your design and cut a duplicate set of words with black cardstock for the silhouette or “eclipse” effect.  I am using #10 sized cards (4 x 9¼”) so cut two panels to fit the dimensions.

Deciding on Adhesive Options

Creating an eclipse effect can be achieved in a variety of ways.  For a more subtle appearance, adhere 2 to 3 layers of black alpha die cuts together, using the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser.  Swap your cartridge for the E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong Refill for that extra level of security.  My preference is to pop out the hidden word by adhering just one black alpha cut to patterned/colored alpha cuts, then apply small foam squares from the 3D Foam Squares White Mix.

This pretty hummingbird was part of the paper collection that I’m working with today.  You can find out more about incorporating die cuts as puzzle pieces on my blog post.  These delicate cuts are easy to adhere, using the Dual Tip Glue Pen.

Working on a Card Base

The standard #10 sized card is 4″ x 9 1/4″.  Trim and score black cardstock to accommodate these dimensions.  The card panels are approximately 1/8″ less in diameter with alpha words sized in the center 2″ H x 5.75″W.    Adhere panels with the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser  and E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong Refill.

Now, add your alpha letters.  This angle shows the silhouette, depth, and dimension.

Add some gold foil accents for added sparkle and shine.  Simply apply the Dodz Adhesive Dots Micro and rub the foil from the 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit, shiny side up, onto the dots.  A lovely and easy way to Wear Your Adhesive On The Outside!

Creating two different cards using the same black and white card stock is a great way to stretch your supplies.  Having more options is always a good thing!

You can get additional technical detail on my blog regarding my die cutting process and a full product list as well.

See you next time!
Terri

Create a Stained Glass Dragonfly Embellishment

Hi friends! Dana Tatar here today sharing a dimensional album cover that I created using the 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit. I love stained glass and I was able to mimic that beautiful art form with die-cut 3D Foam Creative Sheet, Foil, and some colorful glittered flock.

Create a Stained Glass Dragonfly Embellishment by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I am so excited to share this process today! The metallic foil and touch of glitter in the flock catches the light just like stained glass. The color really pops off the matte wood album cover. If you’re looking to create a special gift, this technique is sure to impress.

Create a Foiled 3D Dragonfly Embellishment

How to die-cut 3D Foam to create a dimensional album cover embellishment by Dana Tatar

To begin, die-cut a piece of 3D Foam Creative Sheet with a decorative dragonfly metal die. Next, remove the liner and press the 3D die-cut onto the album cover. For now, leave the protective top liner on the die-cut. I selected an open design so that I could fill in the white space with a lot of color.

How to cut and add foil accents to 3D foam to create a stunning embellishment by Dana Tatar

Use a pair of scissors to cut the liner around the dragonfly from the rest of the die-cut. Then, use the metal die to cut a dragonfly body from scrap paper. Carefully remove the liner from the dragonfly body and cover with the scrap paper. Any type of scrap paper with work for this step.

How to apply metallic foil to a die-cut 3D foam dragonfly by Dana Tatar

Cut and peel away the liner on the dragonfly wings. Place the foil, colored side up, over the adhesive and then gently rub to transfer the foil. I used a mix of green and blue foil for the wings. There were two small hearts on the lower wings that I covered with red foil.

How to apply gold foil to a 3D Foam die-cut by Dana Tatar

Peel away the remaining liner from the foam die-cut. Place the gold foil sheet over the adhesive and gently rub to transfer the foil to the die-cut.

How to Create a Stained Glass Effect

How to apply glittered flock to a wood album cover using a HomeHobby Dual Tip Glue Pen by Dana Tatar

Apply Dual Tip Glue Pen to one vertical section of the die-cut around the dragonfly. Sprinkle on a layer of colored flock and let dry. Continue to fill in the background with different colors of flock. Apply white flock in the open space of the dragonfly wings. Fill in the open space on the dragonfly body with black flock.

How to add dimension to 3D Foam with puffy paint by Dana Tatar

Outline the dragonfly body with black puffy paint. This step will cover the piece of scrap paper applied previously and also add more dimension to the design.

How to create a black and white "tile" border with 3D Foam Squares by Dana Tatar

Apply a border of Thin 3D Foam Squares around the dragonfly die-cut. Peel off the liner from every other square and sprinkle black flock onto the adhesive. (The regular 3D Foam Squares are twice as thick.)

Stained Glass 3D Foam and Foil Accented Dragonfly Mini Album Embellishment by Dana Tatar

Peel the liners from the remaining white squares and place a sheet of window plastic onto the adhesive. The window plastic helps this embellishment to feel like glass and also acts as a protective layer.

Creative Uses for Adhesive Sheets

Did you know our Adhesive Sheets are perfect for die-cutting? They are a thin transparent layer of permanent adhesive between two liners. They provide strong, clear, edge-to-edge coverage of permanent adhesive. Use them with paper, fabric, ribbon, leather, and just about any media. They’re perfect for acrylics and vellum paper too!

How to use Adhesive Sheets

These sheets are non-stringy and will not gum up or leave residue on dies, punches, scissors or other cutting elements. They work in manual and electronic die-cut machines.

For additional flair, apply the sheets to the front side of your project to Wear Your Adhesives on the Outside. Cover with Foil, glitter, embossing powder, pigment powder, microbeads, etc. See how Birgit Koopsen uses embossing powder on her tags, shown above.

Top 4 Adhesive Tips for Around the House

Did you know that having Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L products around the house can be helpful? Christine here today and I have some tips to share so stick with me! I keep a supply of products in the handy drawer in my kitchen. They’re not just for crafting!

TOP FOUR ADHESIVES for around the house:

Tip 1: Gift Wrapping

Top 4 Adhesive Tips for Around the House by Christine Emberson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Do you get in a tangle when gift wrapping?  Do you find sticky tape never behaves? Not a problem anymore with MyStik® Permanent Strips.

You can apply a line of adhesive exactly where you need it, and no more unsightly tape to show.  Your gifts will look professionally wrapped.  Such a time saver especially around Christmas.

Tip 2: Photo Framing

Putting those photos into frames is so easy now.  Just use some Crafty Power Tape to ensure they stay affixed to the photo mount.  It remains sticky, doesn’t discolor and spoil your special photos.

In fact, all of our Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L products are photo and archival safe, acid and lignin free.

Tip 3: Avoiding Scratches on Furniture

Apply 3D Foam Squares to the base of ornaments. Keep their liners on or remove them and add something soft like flock to protect surfaces. I’ve used 3D Foam Squares Black Regular but they are also available in white and come in small and variety packs. These work perfectly as cushions to stop any scratches on your special furniture.

Tip 4: Securing Vases

Accidents can happen but to help avoid items toppling over apply Adhesive Dots Small to the base.  These will secure your vase down, and are very useful if you have pets, children or that someone who is a little accident prone!

Be sure to check out all the useful adhesives on the website. Thanks for stopping by!

Gold Foiled Shamrock Card

All things green, gold, and St. Patrick’s Day at my house – it’s March! My Irish husband and kids love when I create special treats or send cards in their lunches 🙂 This year I’m still going to send sweet cards in their lunches. Today I am sharing with you one of those cards.

Gold Foiled Shamrock Card by Latrice Murphy for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Adding a little gold!

Shamrocks and gold go together like peanut butter and jelly. I found a great card base and wanted to make it more exciting. So I pulled out my Adhesive Sheets 4×6″, foil and gold sequins. I also grabbed my Dual Tip Glue Pen and E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser.

I started with adhering the Adhesive Sheets 4×6″ to some white cardstock. Press the sheet of gold foil from the 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit to the adhesive and rub with your fingers. Once you’ve rubbed it well, pull it off.

Once that foil piece is complete adhere this piece to the backside of the card front. The adhesive runner I used was the E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser. Your card should look like this at this point.

For extra sparkle to play off the gold, I added gold sequins by dotting with Dual Tip Glue Pen first and then placing my sequins down.

Add a sentiment and you’re all done. My card says “You’re so lucky!” on the front and on the inside “Your mom adores you.” I’ll add some chocolate coins in there since it’ll be in their lunches. They’ll love it so much, I hope. Who wouldn’t, right?

It’s a simple idea, but using the gold foil, shamrock card, and the best adhesives around makes it fun and easy.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great March!
